Kindness is not about being agreeable to everyone. It's about being true to yourself while extending grace to others.


Being kind comes from a place of authenticity and compassion. It involves doing the right thing, even when it's not easy or popular. Kindness considers the bigger picture, including honesty and setting boundaries when needed.


Being nice, on the other hand, often prioritizes pleasing others or avoiding conflict, sometimes at the expense of your own needs or values. Niceness can be superficial, while kindness is rooted in genuine care and respect.

It allows us to feel a sense of safety and comfort. Even when it's unhealthy. This is exactly why change feels so scary, vulnerable, and uncomfortable - doing something healthy and good - won't always feel that way

Itโ€™s like having two competing ideas in your mind at the same time, and they donโ€™t quite fit together.


In therapy, we can explore areas where cognitive dissonance might be causing stress or confusion and work on strategies to bring your actions and beliefs into better alignment. This can lead to greater clarity and peace of mind.

Often, I get a client expressing how they just want "to keep the peace," and there's a notorious facial expression when I ask, "But peace for who?"


Sometimes, we choose between the battles within ourselves or the battles with others.


I hope that you remember that the longest and most consistent relationship you have is the one with yourself - please don't make decisions to your deteriment


You can manage your peace by managing your time, your involvement and participation, what you expose yourself to and how you engage with situations and people.

When weโ€™re hurt, it can be hard to hear things without our pain coloring the message.


Healing gives us the space to listen and understand more clearly, without our wounds distorting the perspective


We don't "get over things," we learn how to manage and navigate experiences in more helpful and favorable ways ๐Ÿฉท

Sometimes, we can be too hard on ourselves, holding ourselves to expectations that donโ€™t account for the context we're functioning in.


We often forget to consider the circumstances that shape our experience, which is crucial for understanding how well we're actually doing.


For example, if I've recently been in a car accident, I'll naturally be more stressed than usual. There will be extra tasks and inconveniences to handle, and my capacity and tolerance will likely be lower as a result.

Almost always, a client will say no and then we continue with our intake session...๐Ÿ˜…


The echoes of unresolved experiences are often subtle signs - the loud and clear memories aren't the only experiences that count.


Sometimes, it's the unnoticeable, quiet, reactions and habits that tell a deeper story, an unresolved experience.


From the challenge of saying no to struggling in relationships, each sign contributes to a larger puzzle.


Let's embrace understanding and awareness, as we recognize these signs, we open the door for healing.
