Rehab Department Hosts Another Successful Annual Cerebral Palsy Christmas Party
Christ The King Hospital Rehabilitation Department hosted their annual Cerebral Palsy Christmas Party on 12 December 2025.
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of disorders affecting movement, muscle tone, and coordination, caused by non-progressive damage to the developing brain, often before birth. It's the most common cause of childhood disability, leading to issues like stiff muscles, poor coordination, tremors, or floppy limbs, though severity varies.
This event is hosted annually to recognise the hard work caregivers give to their children throughout the year and thank them to honouring their therapy appointments. Mr Maduna (Occupational Therapist) was the event’s programme director. Mrs Mkhize (Chief Occupational Therapist) welcomed the guests and explained purpose of the event. There was then an experience sharing by the caregivers and thereafter the Comm Serves (Lloyd Ringani, Phumelela Nene and Rendani Tshisikule) also shared their experiences as the therapists.
The event was proudly sponsored by Ixopo Pedros.
