Just having fun braiding Goldie's tail? Yes, but also so much more! 🐴

Some factors that can be focused on with braiding activities in Hippotherapy:

Supports sensory regulation through rhythmic, bilateral hand use and tactile input

Improves fine motor skills, finger strength, dexterity, and grasp endurance

Enhances bilateral coordination, midline crossing, and hand dominance

Develops visual-motor integration and visual attention

Builds motor planning through sequencing a multi-step task

Promotes postural control, shoulder stability, and upper-limb endurance

Increases attention, task endurance, and ability to follow instructions

Supports emotional regulation, patience, and frustration tolerance

Enhances confidence, self-esteem, and sense of competence

Encourages responsibility, nurturing behaviours, and engagement in meaningful activity

So YES! Hippotherapy is fun, but it is also so much more!!! 🐎💕

Hello everyone I am Michaela

I am currently studying to become a groundphase teacher . I did my first year Teaching Practice at Pellsrus Primary and have a deep love for children and seeing them grow and reach their potential . I am also a a big horse lover and have 12 years of expierence with riding and working with them . I am so honored to be part of the hippotheraphy progam and cannot wait to start making a change in the lives of children one step at a time . 🌻🦄
