Our :
*Emily’s short life had been marred by health problems. She had had an operation on her trachea when she was two-and-a-half, and she was scheduled for heart surgery at age three, in three month’s time. Her mother’s desperate search for something to help her child brought her to BSR. The practitioner describes Emily as very small for her age, thin & weak, with black rings under her eyes. She was afraid and he had to check her while she sat on her mother’s lap. Tension was found and released throughout her spine. At the second appointment she was willing to sit still, making it easier to carry out the releases. Her mother reported that Emily’s bowel movements were black, sticky & foul smelling and that she no longer had dark rings under her eyes. Three weeks later, on the third visit, she came running up the driveway to the practice. She looked very different. She had put on weight and her mother said her appetite was good. This time Emily was eager to lie down on the BSR couch. Two months passed before her next session. The little girl who came running in had transformed – she had grown in height and looked strong and healthy. Her mother shared some wonderful news: Emily had been to the heart specialist for her pre-surgery check-up, and he had decided that the operation was no longer necessary.

At 65 *Norm was irritable, skeptical, and generally negative about life. Not surprisingly, as he had to contend with intense lower-back pain, was forced to use a walking stick, and felt worn out. He was reluctant to try BSR as he believed nothing could undo the ravages of age, but his daughter eventually convinced him to see a practitioner. Over the first three sessions, the pain withdrew in stages and Norm gave up his walking stick. He was greatly cheered by the realisation that, by using his back correctly, he could prevent the lower-back problem from recurring. He eagerly followed all the advice he was given and went shopping to find a lounge suite that would honour his spine's biomechanical design. He also resolved to cut down on the commitments in his life and start enjoying himself. He was able to return to his favourite activity, cycling. Norm described his transformation by saying that he felt he was coming back to the core of being who he was.

My story

I am from South Africa and the last-born “laat lammetjie” of my family.

Married, with 2 adult kids. I had the privilege to raise them myself while staying in rural towns and being part of their school, sport etc.

Due to a lot of travelling while they were in a boarding school which took quite a toll on my body, always pain in my lower back and shoulders. I used to do a lot of research on health issues in health and wellbeing etc. I was always interested.

I tried different techniques, but nothing seemed to work. The tension was making slow but sure progress to my neck and the situation was becoming debilitating.
