Today we went to visit the Gr1 class of the amazing teacher ; Eloise Potgieter at Jeffreys Bay Primary school. Their class is learing about occupations that help the people in our community and we were more than delighted when we were invited to share our occupation with the children.

They learned exactly what to expect upon their visit to the dentist and what equipment will be used during the consultation .

They also learned healty oral habits and even had some fun brushing activities.

When should my child visit the dentist?

Most people believe that one only goes to the dentist when there is a problem. Altough this is the most obvious time to visit the dentist we encourage 6 monthly check up visits, to identify problem areas when they are still small and repair work is minimal invasive.
This habbit also gives the dentist a chance to build a bond of trust with your child, making bigger procedures easier to do because the child will be familiar with the environment , equipment and the dentist. A good time to introduce this habit, starts as early as the age 2- 3 years, and can result in a life time of oral health with the elimination of bad experiences.

Dr. Elrie Morton joined JBay Dental Studio in 2017 and during this time she developed a passion in working with young kids.Being a mom of two young kids herself; she understands that children need extra assurance and patience with overcoming their fears.
Dr Morton does not limit her to kids only; she also enjoys dentistry in other fields and deliver these services at the practise.
