Our tried-and-tested method of synthetic gem creation makes for spectacular 0.5mg moissanite gems. With a small amount of ash, hair, or clothing, we memorialize your loved ones forever. What is the process we follow? Cost: Each gem costs R18,000, for a pet the price is R16,000 (all costs includin
g shipping, certificates, and delivery). Upfront payment by secure EFT. Shipping: We will collect the ash/hair/clothing sample from your house or office. Please purchase and use a standard 120ml plastic sample bottle. We operate throughout South Africa. Materials: The process starts with raw silicon carbide, the chemical composition of Moissanite. We mix silica sand and carbon (made from your ash/hair/clothing), which then forms silicon carbide. Crystal Growth: Using a process called the sublimation method, the silicon carbide crystal is grown in a high-temperature furnace in our Gauteng lab. This process takes approximately two weeks to get the correct size of the crystal. Cutting and Polishing: Once the crystal is grown, it is carefully cut into the gemstone. The cutting process is crucial to maximize the brilliance and fire of the remembrance stone. After cutting, the gem is polished to achieve its final shine. Quality Control: Each remembrance gem undergoes strict quality control to ensure it meets specific standards for color, clarity, and overall appearance. We place a very high procedural standard to ensure each gem has the maximum amount of sample carbon. Delivery: We then deliver your gem, with a certificate, to your doorstep. The process from payment to delivery will take around 3 weeks. This is 2 weeks for processing and 1 week for collection/delivery. Remembrance Gem: All our remembrance gems are currently the same size and color (0.5 carat, white, round cut). We will update our portfolio to broaden our size and color range at a later stage. Sustainability: We pride ourselves on protecting the environment. Our high-temperature furnace is powered by a combination of solar, graphene batteries, and Eskom grid electricity. We have plans to completely move to renewable energy sources for our furnace in the coming months. Once this is done, we will be able to issue a green certificate with each product. Certification and Quality: Every customer will supply us with their own unique sample of ash, hair, or clothing. Therefore, the amount and quality of carbon can vary in each stone being created. This difference can cause slight variations in color, but we endeavour to keep the gems as close as possible.
