Understanding you rights after the passing of a loved one. ALWAYS remember the following:
* A doctor will issue a DHA1663 form
* The choice and control over where the deceased will go is yours! Do not feel influenced by the hospital or any of its staff.
* Hospitals do not always have the facilities to accommodate a deceased and may have agreements with mortuaries in the area. If the body was taken to such a morgue without notification, it must not be for your account.
* The funeral home of your choice must be given an opportunity to collect the deceased.
