MEET THE TEAM 👣

Dr Ishania Mahabeer received her undergraduate degree from the Medical University of South Africa (MEDUNSA).

She furthered her studies at Wits, where she obtained her specialist degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She also holds a Diploma in HIV management , through the College of Medicine of South Africa. Her research topic, for her Masters degree in Medicine, delved into the interpretation of cardiotocographs (CTG), which assist doctors and midwives in making decisions about fetal distress.

Her passion for O & G began as a young intern working at R.K.Khan hospital in Kwa-Zulu Natal. She had successfully done her first vacuum assisted delivery. Lending a helping hand to a little one just beginning their journey through life, gave her immense appreciation for the field of Obstetrics.

Dr Mahabeer is a mother of three wonderful children. As a family, they enjoy swimming, hiking through the slopes of the Drakensburg mountains and braaing on a Sunday afternoon.

Dr Mahabeer has recently joined the Oxford Maternity team and looks forward to being a part of your family’s special journey. 👣
