Knee Arthroscopy: A Closer Look Inside the Joint
Knee arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose and treat conditions like meniscal tears, cartilage damage, and ligament injuries.
Through small incisions, a camera and specialised instruments are used to assess and manage the problem directly—often with less pain, smaller scars, and faster recovery than traditional open surgery.
It’s a valuable option for patients with persistent knee pain or mechanical symptoms that haven’t improved with conservative treatment.

These images show a before-and-after look at the fixation of a distal femur fractur, a serious injury often caused by high-impact trauma or falls. The distal femur is the lower part of the thigh bone, just above the knee joint, crucial for weight-bearing and knee movement.
Surgical intervention, using plates and screws, plays a critical role in realigning the bone and supporting healing. Early and appropriate fixation allows for better recovery, reduced complications, and a safer return to mobility.
With proper care, including physiotherapy, the recovery period typically ranges from 3 to 6 months, depending on the patient’s overall health and rehabilitation progress.

Struggling with repeated shoulder dislocations?
In younger or active individuals, this can be due to a Bankart lesion—a tear in the labrum that stabilises the shoulder joint. This type of injury often leads to ongoing instability and can increase the risk of further damage.
When conservative treatment isn’t enough, surgical repair may be recommended to restore joint stability and reduce the risk of future dislocations.

One of the most common causes of shoulder pain?

Dr. Naadir Bismilla, shoulder orthopaedic specialist, offers a range of treatment options — including targeted physiotherapy, anti-inflammatory injections, and surgical care when needed — all tailored to help you regain strength and restore function.
