Every child grows at their own pace, but understanding key developmental milestones can help parents support their little one’s journey! ✨

💡Fine Motor Skills:
Encourage activities like stacking blocks, picking up small objects, and simple crafts to strengthen hand coordination.

🏃Gross Motor Skills:
Jumping, climbing, and balancing games improve strength and coordination—making movement fun and beneficial!

🎨Sensory Processing:
Let kids explore different textures, play with messy materials like sand or water, and engage in movement activities to regulate sensory input.

🛁Self-Care Abilities:
Simple daily routines, like practicing buttons, zippers, and feeding themselves, foster independence and confidence.

👀Signs to Look For:
If your child seems to struggle with these skills, an occupational therapist can provide strategies to help them thrive! 💙

Elfie’s OT Journey Continued: 🌟
At Elfie’s first therapy session, his occupational therapist introduced him to a magical tool called the bolster swing. The bolster swing was a cylindrical swing that provided a unique sensory experience. At first, Elfie was a bit nervous, but with the gentle encouragement of his therapist, he gave it a try.

As Elfie swung back and forth, something amazing happened. The gentle rocking motion helped him process sensory information, making it easier for him to engage in everyday activities. Swinging on the bolster swing challenged his balance and coordination, and he began to develop his core strength. Elfie found that he could hold onto the swing and maintain his balance, which made him feel strong and confident.

With each session, Elfie grew more comfortable and skilled. Keep an eye out to see what else Elfie learnt to use during his OT journey!
