Today we had the opportunity to celebrate the legendary Bongi Hlonywa who was a resident at the Andries Meyer Old Age Home for 27 years. Bongi was never associated as a resident but more as a staff member, he was extremely helpful and passionate, and loved my all. His member will last forever in the hearts of those whom he shared his life with. Rest in eternal Peave Sir..🙏🙏 Thank you Rev Vilander for your unwavering support to our elderly.❤️❤️ abd to Eldos Taxi Association for always being available to assist the old age home. It's a sad day for us as the Andries Meyer Old Age Home this morning. We had a break-in this morning just after 3h00. Amongst other, items taken includes men's clothing, laundry items, washing bins, iron, ironing boards, wheelchairs, etc. They also caused damage to our water pipes😡😡 . This makes me so angry because its stealing from the most vulnerable of our society....our elderly residence and staff is at risk. I have been appealing to SAPS, our counselors and those in authority to be more visible especially in this ext 3 park, to have a cleanup of the area. Where lots of rubbish is taking place. Please have patrollers visible. We do what we can but we need assistance. Community..we appeal for information. Our clothing is labeled and will have the individuals name on. If someone out there is selling wheelchairs..its stolen report it. 🙏

The Executive Board, management, residence and staff would like to extend our gratitude to Apostle Clyde and Ps Cresentia together with Ps Eugene and his family that has sponsored our Christmas lunch this year once again 🙏🙏🙏❤️ this is the 3rd year consecutively and we are eternally grateful....😀😀🙏🙏 im told some of our residence that was suppose to visit their children on the day refused to go with them when collected because they where having such an amazing time...Thank you...Thank You...❤️❤️❤️ We give God Honour for your generosity.......Thank you to Rosie too for the lovely luxury gifts to each of our residence...

Who we are

The Andries Meyer Old Age Home was birth in 1971 made be a generous donation via an Late Estate of Mr Andries Meyer. After many years and many debating sessions, and with the help and assistance of the Former Mr M Steyn and the then Minister of coloured affairs together with Mr L Van Niekerk and Mr L P Spies, Andries Meyer Old Age Home was established and launched on the 09 August 1980.

At a meeting held in Eldorado Park it was decided that an organization called the Protea Organisation for the Coloured Aged to be established. This body was tasked to erect Old Age Homes in the Transvaal and co-ordinate the process.

Today Andries Meyer Old Age Home -Eldorado Park through the benevolence of the late Andries Meyer has secured a resting place for the Aged, and it has now expanded to become a non racial Home caring for the Aged from all walks of life.

Since their modest beginning with only 15 permanent residence, the centre has developed into a Frail Care Centre with 82 Residence and 48 Staff members consisting of Nursing, Security, Domestic, Office, Drivers & Social Worker Staff Members.
