I had a great discussion on Power FM last night about ending cervical cancer in South Africa.

Cervical cancer is our #1 cancer killer of women, yet it is almost 100% preventable. We focused on why the 2026 HPV Drive is a game-changer:

* One Dose: New science proves one dose is enough to protect our Grade 5 girls for life.

* The Science: We discussed how HPV hijacks cells and how the vaccine stops that "hijack" before it starts.

* Self-Sampling: Screening is now easier and private with HPV DNA self-swabs.

Parents, please sign those consent forms. Let’s make this the last generation to suffer from this preventable disease.

Last year the original founders of Genesis, along with a collaborative of midwives and doctors bought and renovated the much loved Genesis Clinic in Joburg🌀

Following positive engagement with the Department of Health and in line with the timeline given by them, we prepared with a full staff complement to launch in November of 2025 🙌

The Department has sadly spent much of the past three months dealing with public scrutiny around the Tembisa Hospital scandal and so have not proceeded with the inspection and licensing of new facilities.

We are so sorry for all the parents who had hoped to give birth here. We are here and ready to serve as soon as the Department gives us the go ahead. We urge those who can to keep the faith and to raise their voices as we ask those in power to engage once again and complete the process of allowing us to offer the standard of family centered, safe and economic maternity care that Genesis is renowned for 🌀
