See our latest article on LinkeIn: Why team-based maternity care cannot wait.-

South Africa’s numbers tell the story:

-74 % private C-sections

-R6.5 bn medico-legal claims each year

-118 maternal deaths per 100 000 births

-Medical-aid cover below 16 %

Network One Health’s pilot cut pregnancy costs about 20 %, dropped C-sections to 42 %, and held patient satisfaction at 96 %.

See how one global fee and one multidisciplinary team change the game—and why funders, hospitals, and clinicians should move first

The operational case for the Network One Health model 1. The system is broken Private hospitals record a caesarean rate of 74 percent.

June celebrates Youth Day,but also acknowledges Mens Mental Health.
In our Practice we have had the opportunity to interact with many Dads to be and the emotions have varied from excitement, anticipation and understandably anxiety.

It is important to put things in perspective and understand your circle of influence, including what you can and cannot control.

You've got this!

Is your maternity care plan based on reality—or assumptions?

Too often, the same model is copied everywhere. But every community is different:

👩‍⚕️ OB-GYNs aren’t always available
🧕 Doulas may be more trusted than doctors
🏥 Private clinics may lead service delivery
🚗 Patients might travel hours for care
💬 Health education often misses the local context

At Network One Health, we start by mapping local professional dynamics:

- Who delivers care on the ground?
- Where are the gaps?
- Who influences maternal health decisions?
- How far do people travel to give birth?

We design integrated maternity teams around real local needs—not a national template.

The result? Smarter referrals, stronger coordination, better outcomes.

Building a maternity service that truly works? Start local.

We have a team of Doulas who are available for our clients when they get into labor.
Your birth Doula will keep in communication with the Mum to be until active labor has been established upon which she will come in person to support a Mum through labor, birth and post.

Continuous support from doulas halves intervention rates. Maternity doulas are a key part of the team. Book a discovery call—click ‘Send Message.’”

Most “maternal care programs” don’t work—for people like me.

Why?

Because they’re built without asking us what we need, what we can afford. Here’s what actually matters when you’re pregnant and looking for real support:
- Who’s already helping where I live—midwives, doulas, OBs?
- Where can I actually give birth—public hospital or private clinic?
- How far do I have to travel—and can I afford it?
- Does my provider speak in a way I understand?
- Will they respect my culture or push it aside?
- Are trusted people from my community part of the care team?

Listen to the people going through it.

Real care doesn’t come from outside experts deciding what we need.

It comes from building with, not for, us.
