Wanting things to be other than the way they are is the quickest route to suffering. Sometimes we demand a different reality, which is about as useful as telling the sun it is in the wrong position in the sky. Accepting our limitations is an unlikely and powerful pathway to freedom.

There are just too many constantly moving parts to keep track of in the course of life. Obsessing over and clinging to these may seem like control, but that is an illusion. Focusing instead on our internal and external perspectives is the most effective way to more readily adapt when we receive those inevitable nudges (or shoves) from life.

Trust in your resilience track record. Sure, this may be the "worst it's ever been" but think of it as a opportunity to become stronger than you ever imagined. That is the true nature of the human spirit that has been, is, and will always be true.

The mundane tasks of life do not cease for those who are in pain. The mother picking out bananas, the old man queuing at the bank. Look out for opportunities to share your light; you never know who needs it.

Staying out of our own way is sometimes the most difficult thing to do. Our desire for control above all else creates internal noise that interferes with our inherent ability to self-regulate and thrive in the face of adversity. The mind can be both a gift and a curse depending on how you use it. Tune in or miss out.
