We highly recommend getting tested for Covid-19 prior to your vaccination if you have any doubt that you may have Covid-19 or if you know you have been exposed to the virus. Please all watch this very important interview with Prof Karim. He advises that it can be unsafe to get vaccinated during the first two phases of Covid-19, the incubation period and the symptomatic phase. These are considered to be the acute phases of the virus. During these two phases of the virus, the virus is already replicating and making copies of itself and this in turn stimulates the immune response. You want to avoid being vaccinated during this period as you are then giving the body two sets of signals. It is strongly recommended for people testing positive or within a period of being diagnosed with Covid that they should not get vaccinated for a least 30 days. However after this period is safe and advisable to get your Covid-19 vaccine as soon as possible.
