Decorating season is here!
Remember to protect your back while lifting and transferring those Christmas boxes, trees and décor.
Bend your knees, keep items close to your body, and use your legs; not your spine, to do the heavy work.
Your body deserves to enjoy the holidays too. 🎄💪

Why do we mark International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December?
It’s a United Nations‑led moment to shine a spotlight on the rights, dignity and contributions of the 1.3 billion people worldwide living with a disability. The day reminds us that inclusion isn’t a charity—it’s a human right. By raising awareness we challenge the physical, technological and attitudinal barriers that still keep many from fully participating in society, work, sport and health care.

What does the day mean for us?
It means recognizing that everyone, regardless of ability, deserves equal access to health, education, employment and, of course, the chance to move and stay active. Physiotherapy plays a key role in helping people with disabilities regain strength, improve mobility and enjoy a better quality of life.

*2025 theme*
This year’s UN theme is “Fostering disability‑inclusive societies for advancing social progress” It calls on all of us—governments, organisations and individuals—to create environments where people with disabilities can thrive, contribute and lead.

*Let’s keep the conversation going
- Everyone has the same rights.
- People with disabilities can exercise, move and lead active lives.
- Inclusion starts with awareness and action.
