Our St Patrick’s Day celebrations were an Irish success. From the lively night market at San Sereno - filled with handcrafted finds, homemade pieces and live music - to the Melrose Manor luncheon with delicious food and pots of (chocolate) gold.

In 1962, Marlene Bethlehem won the Wimbledon Plate for Ladies’ Singles and later became the Dutch International Ladies’ Doubles Champion.

In 1974, she made history as the first coach of South Africa’s first Black women’s tennis team.

Today, she continues to inspire as a resident at Auria.
