Hi all, so we have the results from Hudson's biopsy so just want to send an update. So the point of the biopsy was to see the pattern of injury to the liver over time. The last biopsy and one before showed sinusoidal obstruction syndrome which they put down to the tacro causing the damage. The concern was that the sinusoidal obstruction was irreversible. However the good news is that the current biopsy shows no more sinosoidal obstruction syndrome but it does show rejection. Before you all freak out, rejection in liver is reversible due to the regenerative properties of the liver. Also this is not an aggressive rejection but more longer term, but we need to stop/control it so it does not cause damage long term to the liver. So his current immunosuppressives are not doing that enough so the plan is to put him on a 6 week high dose steroid course and to put him back on the tacro - this does not mean it will cause the same damage as before as his immune system and liver have both changed over time. But we will be monitoring him closely to watch this and there will be another biopsy done after 6 weeks. So that is the plan for now and we want to keep this liver for as possible. But Huddy is happy and growing and doing really well.

Today is a very special day for us today! Huddy made it to 1 year post transplant! What a difference a year makes. This time last year we were sitting by his bedside to see if he will pull through. The last year has been anything but easy. A special thanks to all our family, friends and all the staff of Donald Gordon Transplant ICU and clinic! Without you all we would never be where we are today. The love and support has not gone unnoticed! ❤️❤️❤️

Hello friends! Sorry it has been a while since the last update. Hudson is doing well! He is growing and putting on weight. Last week he weighed 7.3kg and today he is 7.85kg, his arm measurement was 12cm last week and up to 13.2cm today. He will continue with the continuous feeds for at least the next two weeks. We will be back for bloods and another weigh in on 15 Feb and hopefully he will be be able to have the tubes out before his birthday! Thanks again for all the love and support ❤️

Hi all, Huddy had his biopsy this morning and came out smiling. We now wait for the results. They coming to get his NG tube put in and the formula to arrive so we can start the continuous feeds. Doc is doing a viral swab though because of the fevers but not too worried (we told her he has been spiking them since we got home and usually if he needs a poo and it goes as quickly as it came) and they going to do chest x Ray just in case. Other than that he has been eating and drinking like a champ and hopefully we not in here too long. They agreed to lend us a pump to do the nutritional intervention at home so provided he hasn’t picked up anything and there no signs of rejection we really hoping to go home tomorrow ❤️

Hey all, Hudson has been discharged. It’s a very happy day. He is happy, laughing, playing and eating very well. The fantastic Donald Gordon doctors are very happy with his progress so today will be the first time the entire Wilson family will be home together since early December. 🥳🥳🥰🥰
So what is the status,
He is on slot of meds still. They changed his Immunosuppressant medication and as a result he will be back in for a biopsy with next week Friday or the week after. This all depends on the blood results they get from next week Wednesday.
Either way he is looking fantastic.

I know we say it a lot but we can’t say it enough. Thank you every single person for supporting this little miracle. The strength you give him and us is nothing short of amazing.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!
