All my love, Sarah. From the moment that I witnessed my first birth, I knew
that this was the miracle in which I would feel honoured to be a part of.
I offer home and birth unit births, I am extremely passionate about home birthing, and believe it gives an expectant mother the opportunity to birth in an emotionally supportive environment. Dear expectant parents
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you as parents, to what is probably going to be the most exciting journey of your lives. It is a time in which new parents feel their
most vulnerable and therefore an opportunity for me to
make the biggest difference. The birth of your child has a
remarkable impact on the bond that you form together
and I therefore believe in allowing parents to choose what is best for them. I studied at WITS University, and did my
community service at Rahima Moosa mother and Child
Hospital, before working as a midwife for Genesis clinic. I joined Sue King in February 2017, as her beliefs in the
natural process of labour and birth aligned perfectly with mine and
I felt that she could mentor and teach me the best, and I
now want to carry her legacy forward so that other
expectant families may still be touched by her. I worked together with Elrika until February 2022. Having a partner in the practice was an amazing and great start to private practice. I now practice on my own and I look
forward to walking this phenomenal journey with you. My beliefs are to allow a mother her own space to birth in, and to give her an opportunity to take control in labour and childbirth, but at the same time to keep her informed and ensure the safety of mother and baby at all times. I believe that a positive birth experience sets the standards for a positive family bond to be established.
Today, we celebrate the Spring Equinox! If you've been feeling a bit like a sleepy bear emerging from hibernation, you're not alone. The wheel of the year has turned once more, and with it, we step into a season of renewal, balance, and possibility. As day and night stand in perfect harmony, it's a powerful reminder that light always returns.
For centuries, women have embraced this time for Spring rituals, celebrating renewal and growth. From planting seeds to gathering with other mothers in your community, these traditions mark a season of fresh beginnings and vibrant transformation. It's a beautiful time to nurture the seeds youโve planted, both literally and metaphorically.
What intentions are you setting for yourself this season?

The incredible, inherent strength that shines through every woman as she brings new life into the world is a primal, awe-inspiring force.๐ซ
I am a private practicing midwife who is passionate about physiological birth! I started my midwifery career at Genesis working as a staff midwife and learning from all the different private midwives at the time. This exposure really helped shape me into private practice as I saw what philosophies I aligned with and which I didnโt. I believe in the ability of your baby and body to grow and birth your baby with very little to no intervention! I am merely a facilitator your birth guiding you through this journey! I am also a mother of a little boy! Experiencing motherhood definately increased my passion for supporting families on this journey! I would be honoured to journey with you through your pregnancy, birth and postnatal period!
A tough journey that needs to be honoured!! Sending love and hope to all the families that walk this journey! ๐ฅฐ
๐ธ Next month, we honour a journey that many walk silently โ June is Infertility Awareness Month. At Expectant Mothers Guide, we believe that awareness begins with understanding and that no one should ever feel alone in this journey. ๐
Infertility is more common than many realize, and behind every statistic is a deeply personal story of hope, strength, and resilience. Whether youโre on this path yourself or supporting someone who is, weโre here to walk together in the journey. ๐ค
Throughout June, weโll be sharing stories, resources, and support to shed light on the experiences so often left in the dark. Letโs break the silence and build a more compassionate, informed community โ one post at a time. ๐ฌโจ

Ever since I started midwifery I fell in love with the whole process of allowing your spirit, body and mind to help you have such an empowering experience. Every time a baby is born a family changes and as a midwife itโs beautiful to witness a woman become a mom, a man become a father and kids become siblings. I have had the privilege to study and work through the University of Johannesburg and did my community service at Rahima Moosa mother and Child Hospital before working as a midwife for Genesis clinic an then going on into private midwifery. I had the privilege of being mentored by Sue King in her practice. I do believe that itโs important to bring birth back to home or the feeling of home to birth, where moms can labour and birth feeling safe and secure.
