Reel Organisation Reel Gardening is a pre-fertilised seed strip that encases the desired seed at the correct depth and distance apart. It is that simple.

The strip is marked at the right depth with a coloured line indicating both depth and seed type! Reel Gardening is a biodegradable seed tape that can be planted straight into the ground. The tape takes all the guesswork and confusion out of starting a vegetable garden. The tape contains high quality, non-chemically treated seed. The seeds are held within the tape at the correct depth and distance

apart for the plant to grow. The illustrations on our seed tape are printed with a vegetable starch ink. These illustrations provide easy to follow instruction. The coloured area of the tape should be above the ground this is unique to each herb or vegetable, placing the seed at the correct depth. The tape also makes it easy for you to see where your plant is germinating and growing from, meaning you only need to water where the tape is visible saving up to 80% of water usage. This principal turned a dusty corner into a garden that teaches and feeds. 🌱

At Umsobomvu Primary School, what started as reliance on the government NSNP budget and local business donations has grown into something far more sustainable. Today, two active growing tunnels help feed 995 learners, with 615 servings of vegetables harvested, equating to 2.2 tonnes of produce between February 2024 and January 2025.

Growing food is just the start. At Reel, we grow futures through education.
