TRIUMPH-1 (Pivotal Obesity Trial) — Released 21 May 2026
The headline data from TRIUMPH-1 — released just two days ago — is the most significant weight loss result ever recorded in a pharmacological obesity trial:

• 2,339 participants: Randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled over 80 weeks.
• 12mg dose: 28.3% mean body weight loss — equivalent to 70.3 lbs (approximately 32kg).
• 45.3% of participants achieved ≥30% total body weight loss.
• 65.3% of participants reached a BMI below 30 kg/m².
• 24.1cm mean waist circumference reduction.
• Significant improvements in non-HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, systolic blood pressure, and hs-CRP.

Patients deserve accurate, evidence-based information.

The claim that “1 in 4 women with breast implants develop autoimmune disease” is a misinterpretation of database research.
Large studies show a small relative association, not a 25% absolute risk.
Autoimmune diseases are rare and the overall likelihood remains low.

Systematic reviews demonstrate no consistent causal link.
