Hormone pellet implants are created with bio-identical hormones to mimic nature.

Bio-identical means that it is 100% natural and biologically identical to the exact hormone that is already in the human body.

One reason why they are so valued is because of their molecular structure. That molecular structure matches that of the hormones your body produces naturally and this helps reduce the risk of side effects caused by other synthetically produced hormones.

It also allows your body to recognise the hormones and not treat them as a foreign substance, making it easier to absorb them without any waste.

Testosterone in women is what we call the secret female hormone.

As it is a secondary hormone in the female body, it’s starts depleting in their early 20’s which is why it is vital to put that hormone back into your body.

Testosterone in women is like salt to a recipe. You can add all of the ingredients you like but until you add that little bit of salt, and the right amount too, you won’t have to the perfect recipe.

In the female body a woman already has many hormones and when she introduces that little bit of testosterone back into her body she will have the perfect balancing of hormones just like the perfect balance of taste when adding salt to a recipe!

Testosterone is a vital hormone to the human body whether you are a male or a female.

As men when we reach a certain age, our te**es lose the ability to produce the optimal amounts of testosterone for your body. This is what we call Andropause.
Nowadays we see more and more younger men struggling with lower levels of testosterone before reaching Andropause.

Although we don’t know the exact cause of this there is some evidence that suggest it can be from :
- chronic stress
- radiation from our phones when they are placed in the pocket next to your te**es
- refinement of our foods
- speed of our lives
- pollutants and toxins
- poor sleeping habits
- poor nutrition
- little or no exercise

This is why it’s important for men to have the correct testosterone levels in their bodies.

So make sure you check your testosterone levels regularly and see a specialist if you need to. 🧬

Can chronic stress have a negative affect on your hormones?

The answer is absolutely yes! Cortisol is known as our stress hormone and is also seen as all of the different influences on your body at a specific moment in time, for a specific period of time.

Its usually linked to a long term effect on your body, especially with chronic stress nowadays as we’re always sitting, driving or stuck being physically inactive, which allows those cortisol levels to spike higher and higher.

When there are chronic high levels of cortisol in the body one of the negative effects is the suppression of other hormones. This means those hormones will have difficulty fulfilling their functions.

Cortisol is a combination of all of the stresses that we as humans feel like work stress, relationship stress, every day stresses and all of the stresses your body is experiencing too from inflammation, food and deficiencies etc.

This is why cortisol spikes can be such a challenge. When there are chronic high levels of cortisol, it’s what causes increases in inflammation in the body and chronic inflammation is where all chronic diseases get their origin.

So most definitely yes, chronic stress can negatively impact the cortisol in your body which in turn leads to your hormones being unbalanced and stopping your body from functioning optimally.

One thing that I feel is not discussed enough is inflammation. It has a major effect on the body and there are two main types of inflammation.

The first type is normal inflammation or what we call macro-inflammation. This is where for example, you are running and sprain your ankle and it then becomes red, tender, swollen and painful. This is a normal part of healing so this will always happen when injured because the body is trying to prevent further injury and heal and repair the tissue.

The second type is what we call micro-inflammation. Unfortunately this type of inflammation you normally cannot see or feel. It takes place inside the body and is something that is brewing on a cellular level. The inflammation affects that cell’s ability to function optimally making it one of the biggest challenges in integrative medicine when trying to control it.

All disease processes have their origin in these long standing periods of inflammation which is why it is vital to check if you suffer from micro-inflammation so that you can help your body heal and recover fully.

Endometriosis Month.

This is a condition where tissue resembling endometrium grows in other locations within the pelvis, such as the ovaries & uterine tubes.

This can cause a chronic inflammatory response,
leading to the development of scar tissue or fibrosis. Symptoms include pelvic pain, painful periods, pain during sexual in*******se, urination or bowel movements, fatigue, abdominal bloating, nausea, depression, and anxiety.

Treatment includes bio-identical hormone balancing, lifestyle changes, person-specific supplementation, treatment of underlying inflammation and/or surgery to remove the endometriosis lesions and scar tissue.
It should be noted that there isn't a cure and the causes are complex and thought to be multifactorial. Therefore raising awareness and
early diagnosis is particularly important.

Brain fog can be a very common symptom, to a few modifiable factors that may be causing it.

🧠 Stress - When you’re stuck in fight or flight mode, your cortisol hormone increases which can make your thoughts less clear.

🧠 Hormonal Imbalances - This may be a deficiency of estrogen, progesterone or testosterone or even your thyroid hormone.

🧠 Blood Sugar Imbalances - When your blood sugar is low, the brain is not getting the energy it needs and we become foggy and groggy. This
triggers the release of cortisol, which causes carb + sugar cravings and may up our blood sugar even more.

These are treatable, let’s get you feeling like yourself again! 🙌🏼

Sleep is the only activity we can do that completely restores our body and helps us rest and fully recover from day-to-day. To have the best possible sleep hygiene one can have you have to get a few things right.

The most important is obviously trying to sleep for 7/8 hours every day. Developing a healthy routine around your sleeping times plays a big role in how you fall asleep. For example you should limit the lights surrounding you in the final hour before bed time. It also helps to put all electronics off and away from you.

Having a nice hot bath or shower can help you relax and calm down while your body begins to unwind. Reading a great book to distract you from your real life and help your mind switch off can make for a peaceful, lengthy sleep.

Its also important to make sure you are comfortable when you put your book down and put that lamp off, as this will help you create the perfect sleep hygiene environment.

What healthy bedtime routines have you implemented?

Sleep is one of the most essential activities for human beings and creating good sleeping habits can be life changing.

One of the best ways to decrease the effects of cortisol stress on your body is through getting proper sleep.

When we sleep the body repairs itself, restoring hormonal balances and helps keep the circulatory and immune systems functioning properly.

More sleep means more energy and less stress so make sure your sleeping habits are benefitting you so you can take advantage of them and have a healthy functioning body. 🧬

Getting older and ageing are inevitable.

This is why it’s vital to know what is going on in your body, specifically what are your hormones doing and are they balanced?

Hormones do not only help with combating fatigue, skin issues, brain fog, stress & anxiety, insomnia and loss of strength and fitness, but they play a major role in anti-ageing or as I like to say, healthy ageing.

Your hormones enable your body to heal and maintain itself while also preventing chronic diseases over the long term. This is why it’s so important to have them checked regularly and make sure they are performing the best they can for your body.

Having your hormones balanced is the best way to age healthily and stay on top of your game. If you want to take your health seriously, book your appointment with me today and let’s start your journey to healthy ageing. 🧬
