Your skin is not asking for another serum - it’s asking for relief!
Glowing skin has nothing to do with what you rub on it, and everything to do with what your body can release through it.
The skin is one of the body’s primary channels of elimination. When the internal load becomes too great, the body instinctively pushes waste outward to protect the vital organs. As Shelton taught, disease is simply the body’s own remedial effort to purify itself - a wise, purposeful action to free the system of obstructing materials. The skin participates in this eliminative work every hour of every day. When we coat it with oils, serums, lotions, and butters, we are not nourishing it - we are sealing the very doorway the body is trying to use to throw waste out.
The moment anything oily is applied, the pores tighten to defend against the incoming irritant. This traps the very material your body was trying to expel. Instead of escaping harmlessly through the skin, these wastes are pushed back into the system, increasing the internal burden and forcing the body to find another route of escape. This is why eruptions worsen, not improve, with topical products; the skin is not malfunctioning - it's being blocked and clogged. Natural Hygiene teaches that all disease expresses the same principle: the body is removing what threatens its integrity, and obstruction is the only thing that disrupts this process.
Healthy skin begins with proper hydration, because the lymphatic system - the body’s waste-transport network - can only move freely when water is abundant. Dehydration thickens the lymph, slows bowel, kidney and skin elimination processes, and drives the body to use the skin more aggressively. Adding a diet heavy in fats or cooked foods increases the burden and constipates the bowels as these substances leave dense residues that the body must dilute and expel. As the internal lymphatic flow stagnates, the skin becomes the emergency exit.
When we return to simple, water-rich foods - ripe fruits and crisp salads - the body’s eliminative channels reopen. Bowels become clear, and the burden lifts from our skin. Hydration softens the lymph. Raw fruits bring water, minerals and effortless digestion that frees the body’s energy for repair instead of constant clean-up. Salads sweep the bowels clean, allowing the bloodstream to clear, clearing acids and debris from the lymphatic system and improving all cellular function overall. When the burden lessens internally, the skin has no reason to erupt externally. It can go back to its true job: breathing, regulating, and protecting - not compensating for the backlog the wrong diet is creating.
This is why glowing, clear skin is not created with creams, oils or other magic potions. It is created in the bloodstream. It is created by allowing the body to do exactly what it is designed to do when we stop interfering and when we stop supplying the causes of disease. When the channels of elimination are open, the symptoms vanish because the cause has been removed.
Our skin is a direct reflection of our internal state. When the skin is dry, it is simply showing us that the whole body is dehydrated. When the skin becomes oily, it is signaling that the fat intake is too high and the lymph is struggling to move. Redness and irritation on the surface mirror the same irritation happening inside. Covering the surface won’t change what’s happening underneath. Rather than masking these signals with products, we should correct the habits that created them. When the internal terrain becomes cleaner and calmer, the skin naturally follows suit.
