5 Subtle Signs You Might Be Low In Omega-3 Fats & What To Do About It

We all agree that Omega-3s have become synonymous with healthy fats. These fatty acids have powerful antioxidant effects in the body that improve everything from heart health to brain health and immunity.
Although we know these fats are good for us, about 90% of us still aren't getting enough of this vital nutrient daily. And this is true even for those who consume fish on a weekly basis.

1. DRY OR IRRITATED SKIN
If your skin is feeling a bit scaly, red or irritated - and cleansers, lotions and other topical products aren't calming it, then a low omega-3 intake may be the root cause. In a study from Brazil, women eating this fruit just once weekly had an incredible 81% less risk of precancerous cervical lesions known as CIN (cervical intraepithelial neoplasia). This might be due to papaya’s cancer-fighting carotenoids: beta-carotene, beta-cryptoxanthin and lycopene. In a separate study, carotenoids were linked to 62% less cervical cancer risk. But papaya’s carotenoids are special. They’re packaged as nano-sized crystals which absorb up to 3-fold better than from other foods.
