World AIDS Day calls us to renew our commitment to prevention, early diagnosis and uninterrupted access to treatment. Although HIV is now a manageable condition, too many people across our region still face barriers to care, financial vulnerability and persistent stigma.

As the Board of Healthcare Funders, we recognise the critical role medical schemes play in ensuring access to antiretroviral therapy, strengthening prevention benefits, and supporting beneficiaries to remain in care. Our focus remains on advancing equitable, coordinated and evidence-driven models that protect members and sustain the health system.

Today, we stand with our members, partners and communities in driving a region-wide response that brings us closer to epidemic control.
