This is a good warning for South African voters.

This is what happens when the African National Congress is allowed to be anywhere NEAR any money!! The ANC has a pathological illness called corruption, thieving, arrogance, entitlement and hatred of poor people.

This is exactly the concern that led us to set up Companions Joburg to provide a caring, honest, accountable service to the elderly and the vulnerable of our City of Joburg who really want to be in their own homes as long as possible before moving into a care facility but who need that helping hand they can trust, oversight every day to make sure that all is well, accountability to their family in another town or outside of South Africa. Please inbox us for more information. We encourage personal meetings and regular check-ins from family. We do not want to be directly involved with anyone's personal finances but we will contact family if we feel there is something not right. We don't want to make decisions for others, but we do want to support the elderly to feel confident about making their own decisions for as long as possible. Its all about respect and quality of life.

We have had a busy week seeing people off at the airport and were reminded yet again of how many families are living on opposite sides of the world, for all kinds of reasons. So many older people are left in South Africa because they don't want to relocate, or are not accepted in other countries where there children now live. Independence is so important to them, but sometimes they do need a helping hand, caring support, or ethical oversight to ensure they are not exploited. Companions Joburg was set up to provide exactly that service and give peace of mind to family members far away that their loved oldies are living safe, decent, comfortable lives. September is almost over and Spring arrived in Joburg early, putting smiles on people's faces. The weather has been beautiful and there is so much happening in and around Joburg for people of all ages. If you are travelling and need to have your house and your precious animals well taken care of, please do get in touch with us for an informal discussion and a quotation, at no charge. We have been saddened by the significant increase in animals lost and stolen this past month or two so its really important to make the best possible arrangements for your precious furry ones. Oh, not only furry ones, feathered and scaly ones too. We absolutely love all living things and are happy to care for all and any of them.

Today is International Su***de Awareness Day and our thoughts turn to those older people who live alone and even though materially comfortable, life is just not the same with family living elsewhere and friends passing on. We can provide flexible support for our golden oldies in their own homes and help them to enjoy their lives with friendly support, transport to activities they enjoy, regular check-ups just to show a friendly face, or help with shopping. Word-of-mouth is always the best way to build a business!! We provide a committed and caring house- and pet-sitting service. Our Value Add is transport, in particular for our Golden Oldies. So many older people are still in their own homes and with their grown children living outside of South Africa or in another town. We provide peace of mind that all is taken care of, because we know and understand why many older people just don't want to make the big jump to a care facility.
