Please join us in extending our deepest gratitude to the Anova health workers and support staff who have dedicated themselves to serving communities across South Africa. Due to USAID funding cuts, we have had to say goodbye to nearly 3,000 nurses, HIV counsellors, community health workers, data capturers, doctors, and the administrative teams who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to keep everything running.

These extraordinary individuals have been lifelines for those living with HIV, champions of prevention, and unwavering sources of support for the most vulnerable. Their compassion, resilience, and dedication made an immeasurable impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.

To every person who has walked this journey – the communities you served will always carry the mark of your care and will only grow stronger because of you.

Your work has changed lives. You have saved lives. And for that, we say: Thank You!

If you have worked alongside these incredible professionals, join us in honoring them. Share a memory, a message of thanks, or simply recognize the heroes of our HIV response.

Today, we commemorate World Health Day, under the theme Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures” to emphasize the priority of excellent health for mothers and babies, as this is fundamental for healthy families and communities, ensuring hopeful futures for all.

It was an inspiring day at Smash Block (Chromite Clinic) in Thabazimbi where we connected with over 150 community members to raise Mental Health awareness under the theme “Deepening a Culture of Social Justice, Human Rights and Mental Health Care.”

A special appreciation to our funder SSIOC-CDT SA for their support in making this event possible.

Through our Ke Bothlokwa programme funded by SIOC-CDT SA, we offer essential mental health services in selected communities of Limpopo and Northern Cape Provinces.

Services include:
• Early mental health screening for timely intervention
• Support groups providing solidarity and guidance

• Engaging health talks in facilities and communities
• Community dialogues to foster understanding and support
• Expert referrals to ensure access to appropriate care
