Today was a bittersweet one at **Thrive Therapy Services** 💛

Today marked Simona’s last day with us as she prepares for an exciting new adventure — immigrating from South Africa to Australia 🇿🇦➡️🇦🇺✨

Simona is truly one of a kind. An incredible heart, endless energy, deep commitment, and so much passion for her work. A real unicorn 🦄 and absolute gem of a therapist. We have been so privileged to watch her grow — not only as a clinician, but as a person — and to see the beautiful impact she’s had on the lives of her patients, families, and colleagues.

A true testament to how amazing she is can be seen in how incredibly sad everyone is to see her go. She will be deeply missed, but we are so grateful for the time we had with her and so proud of her and excited for everything that lies ahead for her.

Wishing you nothing but success, happiness, and adventure, Simona — Australia is so lucky to have you 💫💙 go and spread that sparkle 😉

Biliary atresia awareness day today at 🟡🟢🟤🟠

“Biliary atresia is a rare and serious liver condition that affects approximately 1 in 15,000-20,000 infants in South Africa. If unrecognised and untreated in the first weeks of life, it can lead to irreversible liver damage.
Early diagnosis and timely intervention, including Kasai portoenterostomy and, where necessary, liver transplantation, significantly improve outcomes.” -

Children with biliary atresia are at increased risk for neurodevelopmental delays based on treatment and intervention, and age. (Ng. et al. 2018).

They also require close monitoring and support of their nutrition in order to gain weight and grow.

Such an insightful and enlightening course.

As the course coordinator Tracy said: “Congratulations to those of you who have officially completed this intense but truly life-changing PNPC course, and as our pilot group, you’ve set the bar incredibly high.“

We’re so excited to share that Thrive Therapy Speech Therapy is now fully based at our beautiful space at Atholl, JHB within Sensory Stars. 💚

This beautiful, collaborative environment is where all the magic happens! ✨

As many of you know, Early Bird Therapy Centre (our Woodmead branch) recently relocated to Kyalami. With that change, we took the opportunity to simplify and consolidate our own practice locations.

We’re thrilled about this next chapter and can’t wait to continue working closely with our amazing families, colleagues, and MDT partners — helping little ones grow, connect, and thrive! 🌈
