Dear Valued Client,
We are pleased to announce that we are now able to provide free HIV testing and treatment under one roof of the GP Care Cell Programme. The GP Care Cell Programme is a private doctor-driven programme designed to facilitate the starting of ARVs for people who test HIV positive. In essence the main goal of the programme is to decongest the crowded public health facilities while continuing to provide a high quality of service, convenient in operating hours and closer to where patients work and live; literally on their door steps. The programme is for people who have not been on treatment before and those without medical aid cover.
Key components of the programme include:
• Free HIV tests
• Free HIV medicines supplied by the Department of Health
• Medicines will be delivered to your nearest pick-up point
• Free blood tests paid for by the Department of Health
• Free HIV consultation for the 1st year on treatment, in Phase 1 of the programme
• And in the 2nd year, the programme will go into phase 2.
• The structure of phase 2 cannot be disclosed of now but it will depend on numbers of patients enrolled on the programme and continued funding from the CDC and PEPFAR
• The programme is fully endorsed by the Department of Health and the City of Ekurhuleni and ably supported by Aurum Institute, the Foundation for Professional Development(FPD) and implemented under the auspices of the PPO serve in partnership with private doctors and pharmacies.
