✨ “Don’t move the way fear makes you move. Move the way love makes you move.” – Rumi

Fear has a way of creeping into our bodies. It shows up as tight shoulders, a shallow breath, a racing mind. When fear leads, our movements become rushed, rigid, reactive.

But what if we paused? What if we softened?

On the mat, we learn this over and over. Yoga invites us to notice where fear lives in our body and then breathe space into it. With each inhale, we open. With each exhale, we let go of what no longer serves.

Stillness isn’t the absence of fear; it’s the presence of love. It’s choosing to move from the heart, not from the mind’s anxious stories.

Today, try this: sit, breathe, and ask yourself—“Am I moving from fear, or from love?” Then let love lead the way. ❤️

Everyone talks about surrender like it’s this beautiful, peaceful thing.
Like letting go should come easy when it’s time.

But what about when it doesn’t?
What about when every part of you isn’t ready?
When people tell you to move on, to let go, to trust the universe — but deep down you feel like… no.

Not yet.
This still matters.
This still lives in me.
There’s still something here.

I don’t want to force a goodbye just because it makes other people more comfortable.
I don’t want to rush my healing just to look like I’ve “moved on.”
Sometimes holding on is love.
Sometimes it’s respect.
Sometimes it’s waiting to see if the story still has something left to say.

And maybe one day I’ll wake up and feel light enough to let it all go.
But if I’m not there yet — that’s okay too.

Surrender will find me when I’m ready.
And not a moment before.

If you’re sitting in the in-between too — holding on, staying close, listening for what’s next — I’m right there with you.
There’s no rush. No rules.
Just your heart.

Hold it gently.🤍

Standing strong like a warrior, embracing the transformative energy of Maha Shivratri. 🕉️✨

Maha Shivratri, the ‘Great Night of Shiva,’ is a time of deep meditation, self-reflection, and inner stillness. In yoga, Lord Shiva represents the ultimate yogi—one who has mastered the mind and body, embodying both destruction and renewal.

Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose) is named after Virabhadra, a fierce manifestation of Shiva. This pose teaches us steadiness, focus, and resilience—qualities needed to navigate both our inner battles and life’s challenges.

Tonight, as we honor Shiva, let’s use our practice to release the old, ground ourselves in the present, and invite transformation. 🕉️🔥

Wishing those celebrating, a blessed and transformative Maha Shivratri✨

And the thing about blooming is, nothing about the process is easy. It requires every part of you to stretch upward, with your roots firmly planted in the ground; and in the sun, and in the rain, and wind, you stand anyway, even against the pull of the soil. And through it all, one day you will see all along you were transforming. This took everything out of you, but the struggle was beautiful and necessary for your growth ~MHN

“We don’t respond to what happens, we respond to our perceptions of what happens.”

Upon reflection on a recent unpleasant situation with someone I care about, I realized that our reactions were based on our perception only. If we paused to understand that the unpleasant event is not the problem and understand each other’s perception and how it makes us feel, we could have avoided a lot of hurt. Shifting my perception helped me find strength and resilience. It showed me that while we can’t control what happens, we can control our response.

Life is shaped not by events, but by how we perceive them. This perspective shift is key to healing and growth. Here are a few things I’ve been working on to help me recognize this perspective shift:

🧘🏻‍♀️Mindfulness: Practice mindfulness daily to become aware of your thoughts and choose your responses.

💭Reframe Thoughts: Turn negative perceptions into positive ones to change your emotional reactions.

💗Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself during tough times to aid in healing.

🙏🏽 Breathwork & Meditation: These practices can calm your nervous system and provide clarity.

The practice of Skandasana (Half Squat Pose) forms part of various yoga sequences as it helps to release tension from the lower body while opening the hips wider and deeper.🤸🏽‍♀️

This pose helps to activate and stimulate the first three chakras: the Muladhara (Root) Chakra, the Swadisthana (Sacral) Chakra, and the Manipura (Solar Plexus) Chakra.❤️🧡💛

Some of the other benefits of this pose are increased flexibility in the hip area, improved balance and awareness, improved core strength, flexibility in the toes and ankles and a stronger lower back.💪🏻

I often say things like “I’m not feeling grounded or centered” and one day my partner asked me what do you mean by grounded? This got me thinking... 🌈🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️

‘Being grounded’ is not just a phrase; it’s a state of mind, heart, and connection to the present moment. 🌍💕

Mentally and emotionally, it’s about cultivating a calm, steady mind - free from the chaos of excessive worry. It’s being fully present, aware of our thoughts and emotions without drowning in them. 🧠🌪️

Physically, grounding is feeling connected to the Earth, having a solid foundation. Think of it as roots anchoring you in the here and now. 🌳💫 Yoga and mindfulness techniques emphasize this connection—through breath, body awareness, and stability.

Why does it matter? Because being grounded is a game-changer for your well-being! It’s your ticket to reducing stress, calming anxiety, and feeling less scattered. ✨

Ready to dive in? Here are some grounding activities to sprinkle into your routine:

1. Mindful Breathing: Inhale the good vibes, exhale the stress. 🌬️💆‍♀️
2. Nature Walks: Let the outdoors be your sanctuary. 🌿🚶‍♂️
3. Yoga: Move mindfully, find balance. 🤸‍♀️🕊️
4. Grounding Exercises: Connect with the Earth, literally. Stand barefoot on grass or soil. 🌎👣
5. Mindful Eating: Savor the flavors, relish the moment. 🍽️🌼
6. Journaling: Pen your thoughts, untangle your mind. 📖🤔
7. Body Scan Meditation: Tune in to your body’s whispers. 🧘‍♂️🎶
