Sandton Physiotherapist is group of experienced physiotherapists with post-graduate qualifications and a keen interest in sports medicine and rehabilitation especially in the corporate environment.
Francesca Carleo (owner) holds a post-graduate diploma in Orthopeadic Manipulative Therapy (OMT1), she is also fully qualified in the field of dry needling, kinesio strapping and holds a pilates instructor diploma.
They are experienced in the management of musculoskeletal injuries as well as pre and post-operative treatment and rehabilitation. They practise a hands-on approach to assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of patients and relish the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary, corporate focused environment. They work closely with sports physicians and specialists. They believe in the importance of continued medical education and would love to be involved in any academic endeavours at the clinic. They strongly believe in the hands-on approach and have qualifications in dry needling, kinesio taping and fascial release therapy. CONDITIONS TREATED: Headaches Neck and shoulder pain (e.g. whiplash, locked facet joint, disc pain, trigger point pain). Middle (thoracic) and lower (lumbar) back pain (e.g. disc pain, sciatica/leg pain) Sports injuries – acute and reoccurring (e.g. rotator cuff injuries, ligament sprains, muscle sprains) Post-operative management Tempro-mandibular joints (TMJ) / Jaw problems Adult Respiratory problems (chest and sinus) SERVICES: Dry needling, kinesio strapping and taping, fascial therapy and manipulation available. Involvement in Wellness Days and Ergonomic Drives. Corporate ergonomic intervention and the use of Ergocore software. Work closely with sports physicians and medical specialists.
