As a Psychologist I prescribe to an integrative therapeutic approach, meaning I tailor my therapeutic approach around the specific needs of each individual client. I am bilingual and fluent in both English and Afrikaans. I completed a BA and Honours degree from the University of Pretoria as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). I worked as a teacher at two prestigious High Schools in Pretoria as part of my PGCE course practical training. I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology through the University of Johannesburg in 2015.
As an intern, I worked at Johannesburg Metro Community Clinics and Helen Joseph Hospital. During my community service year, I worked for the West Rand Community Clinics District. In both my Internship and Community Service years I gained practical experience working in in-patient and out-patient settings. I also worked closely with multi-disciplinary teams of Doctors, Psychiatrists, Occupational Therapists, Social Workers, and Psychiatric Nursing staff to provide the best care for both in-patient psychiatric patients and to provide follow up care for out-patients. In all of these settings, I worked with adults, adolescents, and children.
Since starting private practice in 2017 I have mostly worked with Adults and Adolescents. I also worked with Elderly patients in a Psycho-geriatric practice at Akeso Clinic Parktown in 2019. Since 2018 I work as a Trauma ICU Psychologist at Netcare Milpark Hospital as well as in private practice. I have developed an interest in Trauma Psychology and Psycho-oncology (Psychology of Cancer). I however work with a variety of different Psychological problems and topics in my private practice.
