Inner child work is a therapeutic process of reconnecting with and healing the younger self to address unresolved emotional wounds from childhood. It involves "reparenting" yourself by providing the self-compassion, validation, and care you needed as a child, which helps to heal past traumas and understand how early experiences influence adult behaviors and reactions. By processing old pain and unmet needs, individuals can form healthier relationships and develop greater emotional resilience.

International Men’s Day
Today we honour the strength, softness, and humanity of men everywhere.

Men often carry pressures that go unspoken, yet your feelings, your wellbeing, and your mental health matter. Reaching out for support is an act of courage, not weakness.

To every man choosing healing, growth, and emotional honesty: we see you, we appreciate you, and we stand with you.

If you’re struggling, remember, you never have to do it alone.💙

DBT - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy has been proven by rigorous research to be effective for addiction - all addictions.

DBT : Wise Mind Skill.
Life's challenges require us to draw on both emotion and reason. Relying too much on just one of these creates an imbalanced perspective. In dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), wise mind balances emotion and reason, helping us make healthy decisions and lead a fulfilling life.

This Wise Mind: DBT skill worksheet describes wise mind and how it differs from emotion and reasonable minds. Emotion mind is when we use feelings alone to determine our decisions and behavior, whereas reasonable mind is when we use only logic, ignoring our feelings. With wise mind, we recognize and respect our feelings while responding to them in a rational way.

ℹ️🌿 HOW TO BOOST SELF-REGULATION AND OVERCOME BAD STRESS |

Self-regulation is more than just getting to a state of calm. It can be beneficial to view stress as a spectrum and to understand what is actually happening in the mind and body when we become triggered and are experiencing symptoms of bad stress. Bad stress can have a debilitating effect on our physical and mental health when we feel like we can’t cope with the given situation.

Stress can be viewed as the nonspecific response of the body to a demand for change. Stress impacts our physiology and can have a detrimental effect on our cardiovascular system, our endocrine and immune systems and on our muscles. Not all stress is bad, however, as we might be bored in the absence of a motivating influence to improve our performance. So, bad stress is when we feel out of control and struggle to cope.

It seems counterintuitive, but in the most difficult times focusing on what is still right, and being grateful for it, may help decrease the impact of the stressor.
