Amazing news! Preventing HIV is so important and this is a game changer. PrEP Injectable LENACAPRAVIR (two injections a year) . The shot could bring an end to Aids if enough people take it. The jab, which the health department could start rolling...

Is our work of the last two decades coming undone?

We’re watching the largest HIV treatment programme in the world unravelling in real time. We don’t need perfection, but we do need a combination of urgency, action, and strategy to save it, argues Professor Francois Venter.

PREVENTION VS TREATMENT
Dont get confused! In South Africa, injectable TREATMENT is not available yet and the article attached explains why.

What HAS been in the media and press is INJECTABLE PREVENTION - a six month injection to prevent HIV infection in a person who is HIV NEGATIVE.

It is easy to confuse and many reporters and articles confuse it themselves.

As it stands, if you are HIV positive, there is no injectable treatment available in SA>

If you are HIV negative and want to remain so, the option of an injectable prevention should be coming in the near future.

HIV prevention injections have recently been making headlines around the world, but there has been much less noise about antiretroviral injections to treat HIV.
