Headaches, particularly migraines, are often shrouded in mystery. Their causes and mechanisms have eluded scientists and medical practitioners for years. Generally, medicine says that a headache comes from nerves and is a neurological issue. But what if I told you there's more to this story than meets the eye and this is not always the case?
Headaches are complicated and one key takeaway from my earlier research is the role of muscle tension in triggering headaches. When the muscles in the jaw and neck become tense, it can lead to a cascade of events that result in debilitating pain.
This perspective challenges the traditional view that separates headaches into distinct categories, such as migraine or tension headache. Instead, we see them as different expressions of the same underlying issue—muscle tension.
By addressing the root cause, we can offer treatment that not only alleviates pain but also improves the overall quality of life for headache sufferers.
I have redefined how we understand and treat headaches and can bring relief to millions who battle with these conditions every day.
