Pain is not only about muscles or joints. It is also about the signals travelling between your nerves and your brain.

Nerve signal is the way your brain and body communicate. When they become irritated or disrupted, pain can persist. Physiotherapy helps calm and support these signals, restoring better movement and function.

Many cases of ongoing pain are linked to disrupted or irritated nerve signals, not just muscles or joints. That’s where tools like the StimPod come in.

By gently stimulating the nerve, it helps restore clearer communication between the brain and body—reducing pain, improving movement, and supporting the body’s natural healing process.

At Liora Physiotherapy, we look beyond where it hurts to understand what’s really driving the pain. So if you’ve been struggling with persistent discomfort, there may be a more effective way forward.

Let’s find the right approach for your recovery.

Not all pain behaves the same way, and understanding the difference can completely change how it’s treated.

🟣 Acute pain is your body’s natural protective response. It signals that something needs rest, care, and time to heal.

🟣 Chronic pain is more complex. Even once tissues have recovered, the nervous system can remain sensitive, continuing to send pain signals long after the initial cause has resolved.

That’s why the first step is always understanding the type of pain you’re experiencing. From there, we can guide your body with the right, targeted approach to support real and lasting recovery.

"Did you know that chronic pain is not always caused by ongoing injury? Sometimes, the brain continues sending pain signals even after tissue has healed.”

At Liora Leslie Physio, we work together holistically with your body and your nervous system to create lasting change for your healing journey.

Everyday Habits That Might Be Triggering Your Sciatic Pain ➡️
• Sitting for long hours (especially slouched)
• Lifting incorrectly
• Skipping strength work for your glutes + core

Repeated strain on the lower back can irritate the nerves.
Your body isn’t “weak” — it’s simply responding to what it’s been asked to carry.

If you’re dealing with sciatic pain, sometimes relief starts with changing the little things you do every day 🤍
At Liora Physio, we will work together to support your healing.

What is nerve compression?
If there’s pain or inflammation around a nerve, it can interrupt the signals travelling through it.
Think of it like a hosepipe - if it’s kinked or compressed, the water can’t flow properly.
Your body works the same way. When we reduce irritation, we restore flow.🪻

What is sciatica and why does the pain shoot down your leg?
We have treated this pain often in our practice, someone could come in thinking it’s “just back pain,” but when pain travels down the leg, that’s usually means this could be sciatica.
Sciatica is nerve pain. It happens when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated or compressed in the lower back or pelvis. Because it’s a nerve, the pain doesn’t stay in one spot it follows the nerve pathway down the leg.

This type of pain needs the right assessment and targeted treatment to calm the nerve and restore comfortable movement.
If this sounds familiar, don’t ignore it 🤍

You might notice:
• Sharp or burning pain
• Tingling or pins & needles
• Numbness
• Pain mostly on one side

Post-partum recovery happens in everyday moments: How you walk, get out of bed, and feed your baby all impact your core, pelvic floor, and back.

📃An 'emotional body pain chart' explained:

Stress, emotional load, posture, breathing patterns, and daily habits all influence how the body moves and how it holds tension. Headaches, neck and shoulder pain, upper-back tightness, digestive discomfort, or hip stiffness are often connected to more than just muscles and joints.

That’s why our approach looks at the whole system. We assess how your body responds to physical and emotional stress of everyday life.
We do not just treat symptoms, we work in a holistic approach to understanding why your body is responding the way it is to help you.

Our team guides you towards lasting relief.
