I recently participated in a netball tournament, during which I sustained an ankle injury in my fourth game. I strained and sprained the ligaments in my ankle, resulting in significant pain, weakness, and an inability to bear weight on the affected foot.

Upon returning home, I elevated my foot and applied ice to reduce swelling. Later, I wrapped it in a compression bandage and kept it elevated overnight using a raised pillow. The following day, I began using a speed brace for additional support and applied Transact patches to help manage inflammation.

Two days after the injury, I consulted with Sam, who conducted a thorough assessment of the ligament and muscle damage. She utilized ultrasound therapy and other manual techniques to reduce swelling, improve range of motion, and support the healing process. I also underwent an X-ray to rule out any fractures—thankfully, none were found.

In the days and weeks that followed, Sam and I worked closely to support my recovery. We focused on reducing swelling, restoring range of motion, and gradually rebuilding strength. This included a progressive rehabilitation program, beginning with partial weight-bearing exercises and advancing to full weight-bearing and resistance training.

🔹 Regain strength and mobility - if you have been on bed rest or if you just feeling week post virus or infection. We can work together to build up your strength with a program developed for you.
🔹 We are able to help you with chest therapy, diagrammatic breathing and helping your body to recover by assisting with methods that result in you improving your breathing and being able to get more oxygen throughout your chest and lungs.
🔹 We can work on pain management, muscle tension or spasms as a result from your body being very run down from being ill. We work on releasing those muscles to leave you feeling stronger and healthier.
🔹 If your body feels like it's stuck in one position for a long time, reach out as we can get you moving and work on joint mobilization and ergonomics.
