Human Moments

Human Moments A great life comprises a collage of moments filled with gratitude, reflection, giving, receiving, loving, learning, applying oneself and sharing.

Human-Moments have highly skilled individuals whose focus is to create positive change and impact through every project and interaction. We are an organisation set up for social change and to create ease of business through our social citizen initiatives, summits and training sessions. We will manage your social investment fund, from constructing a strategy to operational implementation. Our focus is the environment, health, youth and leadership development; and education through ICT. Our expertise extend to crafting your Sustainability report, your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies and operational procedures, drafting your reporting documentation, crafting your governance frameworks and convening governance bodies within the organisation for effective and impactful management of your CSR projects and programmes. We will review your employee volunteering needs and construct an implementation plan commensurate with your business needs. We are the founders of the respective “Inspirational Women” and “Inspirational Men” (Inspirational Beings) summits geared towards inspiring our youth and providing them with practical advice and actions to rise above perceived obstacles. These summits are aimed at creating lasting inspirational moments thus setting in motion inspired possibilities by the delegates. The summits were birthed from the South African Women for Women summits that raised funds for under resourced safe houses. These human moments created resources that would empower its recipients to move upward and onward. Human-Moments regularly call for “round tables” to discuss and action burning platforms with driven stakeholders who are poised for change. Our training workshops aim to support our youth to uncover their authentic self – to prepare and enable them for life. Social media platform development aids in communicating the great work our delegates and clients are doing.

Make Today Count - Good day fellow Human BE-INGS. I'm sure I'm not alone in feeling slightly disjointed from this time, space, and reality we find ourselves in. The world is feeling increasingly smaller - yet what should bring us closer - has resulted in a palpable divide. So what now? Well, we are truly at our best when we share our time, energy, thoughts and gifts with others. So in support of this action we as a collective can shift the energy needle by sharing ideas on how we can support this planet, its inhabitants and individuals who may need us more than ever. After all, we view the world through different eyes - we are not defined by the circumstances around us - we change it, one kind action at a time. Please share YOUR action or the action you are thinking of taking on this platform! You may have an organisation you are thinking of helping, or you are looking to set up a group to action a need in a community, or there may be an individual who may need support - Let's work together to create Human Moments of change and create the planet we want TOGETHER.

I've always viewed these guys as a menace on the roads of Johannesburg, taking huge risks, weaving in and out of the traffic. Impatient drivers (like myself) hooting and swearing under my breath at them.
However, this video clip shows a new perspective. Next time you see these guys on the roads in front of you, don't get annoyed, rather pull over (if you can), shake their hand and show your appreciation for what they do for a living. They aren't environmentalists, they are just down and out guys trying to make a honest living, but with positive consequences. Enjoy the clip.

As we all become more and more aware of environmental issues, we all can do ‘something’ to change our behaviour in helping protect our fragile environment. is a step in the right direction.

For me personally, the impact of this initiative is twofold. 1) To start the journey of living a more healthy plant-based eating lifestyle, and 2) any messages we send back to the meat industry to clean up their act in their often horrendous treatment of animals, can only be positive.
So my challenge to you all is to be part of this change. Eating less meat is actually not difficult. There are very tasty veg recipes abundantly available, besides will send recipes to assist you in your journey.

is a campaign by Sustainable Brothers & Sisters in collaboration with Plant the Seed Education. Meatless May is aimed at bringing awareness to the huge negative impacts meat and the meat industry have on the environment, society and our health.

We've always thought that fossil fuels were the main culprit of carbon emissions into our atmosphere. However, my perspectives have broadened a little after discovering this TED presentation from 2013. Holistic Land Management is a very interesting perspective that needs to be looked into in more detail, and could fit very well into the UN Sustainable Goals initiatives if proven accurate.

"Desertification is a fancy word for land that is turning to desert," begins Allan Savory in this quietly powerful talk. And terrifyingly, it's happening to ...

CITES uogrades our Rhino to APPENDIX 1!! We are losing this battle to save our rhino. I'm not a big believer in petitions, but the cost of doing nothing, far out weighs of doing something. Please take a moment to sign this petition.

CITES! UPGRADE OUR SOUTHERN WHITE RHINO TO APPENDIX 1!  "critically endangered"  (Ceratotherium simum simum)  This petition will be delivered to CITES, CoP 17, at the Sandton Convention Centre, between the 24th September and the 5th October 2016.    “Another year of poaching like 2014 and it...

On September 25th, countries were given the opportunity by the United Nations to adopt a set of goals to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all as part of a new sustainable development agenda. Each goal has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years. For the goals to be reached, everyone needs to do their part: governments, the private sector, civil society and people like you.

Allow me to re-quote our friends at Culture Corporation, who define THE SEVEN IRREFUTABLE TRUTHS ABOUT AFRICA

1) Exploding population growth and increasing poverty are the real issues behind environmental threats.
2) Africa must create African solutions for African challenges.
3) Global perceptions of and behaviour towards Africa and Africans, as well as how Africa portrays itself need to be readdressed and reframed.
4) Aid to Africa, with little accountability for its management and outcomes, is at the core of the ongoing cycle of dependency. Communities and conservation rather need relevant and sustainable models.
5) Traditional governance of land, resources, communities and commerce are often no longer relevant thus begging for truly relevant, integrated and aligned alternatives.
6) Globally there is a critical need to integrate environmental issues and aligned challenges into the mainstream of education, media communication and economics.
7) Environmental education is an essential yet a mostly absent part of all school curricula.

We at Human Moments will be part of this initiative in Africa, to work with governments, NGO's and individuals alike to make our continent great.
