Let’s set the record straight! Here are some common scoliosis myths:

❌ "Bad posture causes scoliosis."
✅ Nope! Scoliosis is NOT caused by slouching—it’s often due to genetics or unknown factors (idiopathic scoliosis).

❌ "Only kids get scoliosis."
✅ While it’s often detected in childhood, adults can develop scoliosis too!

❌ "Scoliosis is always painful."
✅ Many cases are pain-free! But treatment can help if discomfort arises.

Most babies only need one helmet for their entire cranial remoulding journey! Each helmet comes lined with a foam interface which allows us to make space inside the helmet as growth occurs. No second helmet needed!

Ever wondered why scoliosis curves tend to worsen over time, especially in growing kids? It all comes down to Heuter-Volkmann’s Law.

📌 The Basics:
The spine grows by responding to pressure. When a scoliosis curve develops:
🔹 The concave side (inside of the curve) is under compression, slowing growth.
🔹 The convex side (outside of the curve) experiences traction/pulling, speeding up growth.

This imbalance makes the curve worsen over time, which is why early intervention is so important! Bracing works by correcting these imbalances on the spine, helping to slow down or stop progression.

The SmartSoc Scanner is a mobile, handheld system that uses a soft cap with strategic points and stickers placed on a baby's head to achieve a comprehensive scan. (making it great for scanning wiggly little ones anywhere!)

The STAR scanner is the newest, most advanced scanner with GMA owning the only one in Africa. It uses structured light scanning for fast, high-resolution 3D imaging all while your baby lies comfortably inside the scanner.
