Lighthouse Episode 10 of UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered ME
— (for the woman who kept shining, even when no one was watching.)

UnspokenHER:
I’ve had moments—tiny, powerful moments—where something stirred so deep inside me it brought me to tears.
A scene in a movie.
A line in a book.
A woman standing in her power.
It wasn’t sadness.
It wasn’t pain.
It was something else.
A kind of recognition.
A whisper from within that said:
“This… this is who you really are.”

I didn’t always know what to do with those moments.
But I remember how they felt.
And something tells me… I should have been listening.

Dear Empowered ME:
Those weren’t random tears.
They were soul signals.
Glimpses of your values, your calling, your truth.

They came when your heart recognized itself.
Not in your wounds, but in your wisdom.

You don’t have to understand it all at once.
Just promise yourself this:
You’ll stop dismissing what moves you.

The things that stir you awake—those are breadcrumbs.
Follow them.
They lead you home.

Try this:
• Journal this prompt: When was the last time I cried from inspiration, not pain? What was I seeing, feeling, or imagining?
• Collect these moments. Write them down as reminders of who you truly are.
• Let them guide your next brave decision.

Want to explore what’s really calling you forward—but privately?
The EmpowerHER video series is a self-paced journey for women rebuilding their identity, peace, and power after major life shifts.

5 intimate modules to support you through:
• Fear of being alone
• Financial uncertainty
• Fear of the unknown
• Loss of connection
• Guilt-free self-prioritization

For the moments when your soul speaks—and you’re ready to answer.

I DID THIS FOR ME

(Missed earlier episodes? Tap “EmpowerHER” in my highlights or scroll the feed to catch up.)

UnspokenHER:

I didn’t wait for permission.
I didn’t explain my boundaries.
I didn’t justify choosing peace over people-pleasing.
This time, I didn’t ask for permission—I just moved differently.
And not for them.
For me.

Dear Empowered ME:

This is what self-honouring looks like.
No spotlight. No performance. Just real, rooted change.
The kind that doesn’t need to be explained or defended.
You moved with intention.
You made healing your own kind of rebellion.
You chose you—and that’s everything.
You became your own SUPERHERO.
Let this be your pause.
To breathe. To acknowledge. To be proud.
Not because it’s over.
But because you’re becoming unstoppable.

Try This:
• Write a short note to your past self: “Thank you for holding on when I wanted to give up.”
• Celebrate one thing today that no one else knows you’ve overcome.
• Choose one act of joy—just because you can.

Need help but NOT ready to speak to someone just yet?

That’s okay.
The EmpowerHER video series was created to help in this way—
When you’re still gathering yourself quietly, but need real tools to move forward.
It’s a 5-module, self-paced journey designed to help you:
• Face your fears (being alone, starting over, finances, lost support)
• Rebuild emotional safety and clarity
• Prioritize your own healing—without guilt
It’s not just inspiration.
It’s your private space to pause, reflect, and begin again—on your terms.

…and so we move on…
Some truths aren’t shouted.
Some strengths don’t roar.
But still—they shine.

Like lighthouses: steady, silent, unwavering.

This is UnspokenHER: *The Lighthouse Series.
For the woman who kept shining,
even when no one was watching.

Episode 8: Strong Doesn’t Mean You’re Not Tired

UnspokenHER:
I clap for myself. Pat myself on the back.
I keep showing up. I keep moving forward…
But I’m exhausted.

I’m still the one doing all the holding—of homes, family, friends, jobs, people, pets…
Still the one keeping it all together while no one asks if I’m okay.

Is it selfish to want a break?
To not be strong today?

Dear Empowered ME:
You’re not selfish.
You’re spent.
And you’ve been in survival mode so long, you forgot that asking for support isn’t weakness—it’s wisdom.

You don’t always need to push through.
You need to recalibrate.

You don’t need more motivation.
You need a moment.

Give yourself what no one else can offer: space to just be.

Try This:
• Don’t take the phone call if it drains you —without guilt.
• Take some time out to do something for you - again, without guilt
• Talk to a friend or family and allow yourself to be vulnerable. Ask, even if it’s uncomfortable. Let that someone show up for you.
• Write down three things you need. Not want—need. Then honour them this week.

It’s never too late to learn a new skill. Especially when life forces your hand—like when your web designer ghosted you several months ago after being fully paid ( ).
I finally plucked up the courage (and let’s be honest, financial constraints gave me a little shove too) to try my own hand at building a website. With a lot of Googling, determination, and some "wine"— in my case aka cranberry juice—I went full DIY mode.
Four days, zero sleep (okay, maybe a few whiplash dozing in front of my laptop), and an orchestra of f-bombs later…
Is it professional? No.
Is it perfect? Absolutely not.
But is it mine? 100%. Every button, every section, every typo (lol)—it’s all me.
And in the spirit of new beginnings and transformation, I’ve even created a fresh logo—one that symbolizes rising above life’s chaos and continuing to face forward.
So if you’ve been holding back from trying something new, let this be your nudge. Messy or not, you can do hard things.

Episode 7: Am I Invisible?

(Missed earlier episodes? Tap “EmpowerHER” in my highlights or scroll the feed to catch up.)

UnspokenHER:
"I’ve done so much. Accomplished things no one even knows about.
I held it all together when everything inside me was breaking.
But no one clapped.
No one said, ‘I see you.’
Was it all for nothing if no one noticed?"

Dear Empowered ME,
You were never invisible.
You were resilient. Quietly, fiercely, beautifully.

Your triumphs may not have made headlines, but they changed your life.
You didn’t need a crowd to witness your strength—you lived it.
And that matters.

The applause you’re waiting for?
It starts with you.
Celebrate your journey. Celebrate the woman you’ve become—not because someone else said you could, but because you know what it took to get here.

You don’t need permission to be proud of yourself.

💡 Try this:
• Before bed tonight, write this sentence in your journal:
“Today, I honour myself for…”
(Then finish it—even if it feels small.)
• Start a “Silent Wins” list. Add to it daily.
• Whisper this to yourself: “I see you. And I’m proud of you.”

UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me
Episode 7: Show Up Anyway
(Inspired by the incredible -gin ladies—thank you for your sisterhood, support, and strength.)

UnspokenHER
“Why am I so tired, even when I’m doing the things I love?
Why does everything feel like too much?
And if I don’t have the energy to be cheerful or social, should I even bother showing up?”

Dear Empowered Me,
You don’t have to arrive with a smile or a story.
You don’t need to “contribute” to belong.
Just being there—your presence, your quiet, your breath—is more than enough.

This is what sisterhood is for:
To remind you that you’re not alone.
That being witnessed matters.
That even in your silence, you are seen.

Say yes to spaces that hold you gently.
Say yes to community, not performance.
Come as you are, especially on the days when showing up feels like the bravest thing you can do.

💡 Try this:
• Let yourself be carried by the energy of others today.
• Say yes to joy, even if your heart still feels heavy.
• Take up space without explanation.

UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me
Episode 6: Fear of the Unknown

(Missed a previous episode? Find earlier reflections in my feed and follow to continue the journey.)

UnspokenHER:
I used to think I knew where I was going.
Now? I second-guess everything.
I don’t know what the future holds, and honestly—I’m not sure if I’m making the right choices anymore.

Is it that I need someone to validate my next step?
Or am I just afraid that I don’t actually know what I’m doing?

Dear Empowered Me:
This isn’t weakness. It’s the part no one tells you about—
When you’ve outgrown the past but the new path hasn’t revealed itself.

It’s not confusion. It’s becoming.

You don’t need all the answers today.
You just need a little courage to take the next step.

Try this:
• Don’t try to fix the whole future. Just choose one thing today that feels right—even if it’s small.
• At the end of the day, write down one quick win in your journal:
– Maybe you made someone smile.
– Finally cooked that new recipe.
– Completed a task you’d been avoiding.
– Or simply got out of bed and kept going.

Progress doesn’t always look like big steps. Sometimes, it’s choosing not to give up today.

You’re not lost. You’re simply rebuilding your inner compass.

Episode 5:
"2 Steps Forward, 10 Steps Back"
(Missed a previous episode? Browse my feed and follow to journey alongside it.)

UnspokenHER:
I’ve done so much.
I got up when I didn’t want to.
I changed old habits.
I cut ties. I showed up. I grew.
But now… I feel like I’m back at the beginning.
I’m exhausted. The spiral feels real.
What’s the point of trying if it all just resets?

Dear Empowered Me:
You didn’t go backward.
You hit a depth you were finally strong enough to face.

Healing isn’t a straight road—it’s a spiral staircase.
You’ll visit the same pain more than once—but each time with new awareness, strength, and tools.
The emotions feel familiar, but you’re different now.

You’re not starting over. You’re meeting yourself again—in a deeper place.

Here’s how you anchor in this storm:

Pause. Your weariness deserves rest, not guilt.

Reflect. What’s actually repeating—and what’s revealing?

Reframe. This setback is a mirror showing you what still hurts.

Recommit. You’ve done it before. You’ll do it again—with more grace this time.

You are not broken. You are layered.
And every layer deserves love—not just the polished ones.

✨ This is part of the UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me series—a space for the quiet pain behind strong faces. It's drawn from the voices of women I’ve coached, and reflections I’ve lived myself—like those in my book EmpowerHER: A Woman’s Guide to Navigating Transition.

UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me
Episode 4: When Depression Sits in the Body
(Missed a previous episode? Start with Episode 1 in my feed.)

UnspokenHER:
I’ve overcome so much in my life.
So why do I feel so stuck?
Why does everything feel heavy—even things I used to love?
It’s like my body knows something’s wrong, even when my mind won’t say it out loud.
I don’t recognize myself anymore.
What’s wrong with me?

Dear Empowered Me:
Nothing is wrong with you.
This is what emotional burnout can feel like inside a healing body.

After a major life shift—whether it’s a breakup, career upheaval, empty nest, or identity loss—your nervous system doesn’t just reset.
You’ve been holding it together for so long, your body is asking for permission to let go.

This isn’t laziness. It’s biology.
Feeling stuck after change is not weakness—it’s a signal that something sacred is ready to be rebuilt.

If you’re feeling stuck, try this:
• Hydrate + nourish before you analyze your feelings. Fuel comes before clarity.
• Move gently—not to “snap out of it,” but to remind your body it’s still on your side.
• Break the day into micro-wins. Make the bed. Drink the tea. Open the curtains.
• Let someone in. You don’t have to always show strength to people who love you. Allow yourself to be vulnerable
• Release timelines. You’re not behind. You’re in process.

You’re not meant to “bounce back.”
You’re meant to emerge—and emergence takes time, space, and softness.

✨ This post is part of the UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me series—reflections drawn from coaching work, personal experience, and the quiet questions so many carry through seasons of change.

UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me
Episode 3: Fear of Financial Instability
(Missed a previous episode? Start with Episode 1 in my feed.)

UnspokenHER:
No one prepared me for this. Waking up at 2am in a cold panic, wondering how I’m going to afford a new place, the school fees, the bills. What if I can’t make it on my own?

Dear Empowered Me:
The fear isn’t just about money—it’s about what money represented: safety, structure, someone to share the burden.

And now, it feels like it’s all on you.

So let’s start there. Not with positive affirmations, but with a plan.

- List your fixed costs. Know your numbers—it puts you back in control.
- Strip it to essentials. Not forever. Just for now, while you rebuild your foundation.
- Start a small emergency buffer—even R50/week is a promise to yourself.
- Ask for guidance, not approval. You’re allowed to reach out—to a financial advisor, support network, or someone who's done this before.
- Create one new income stream, however small. This is where confidence starts—not with answers, but with action.

You’re not failing. You’re stepping into a kind of self-reliance no one taught you—but you’re learning it now. Slowly. Powerfully.

This fear may still whisper in the dark, but it won’t own you. You’re learning to live with it *and* move anyway.

This is part of the UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me series—a reflection of the real, unspoken experiences many face after divorce or deep life change.

(Missed the beginning? Search “UnspokenHER | Dear Empowered Me” to catch up.)

UnspokenHER:
I never thought I’d be starting over at this age.
The nights are quiet. Too quiet.
The bed feels bigger. The world feels smaller.
Everyone tells me to “enjoy your own company,” but no one explains how—when the silence feels like rejection.

Dear Empowered Me:
You’re not really afraid of being alone.
You’re afraid you won’t know how to be with yourself—after years of being “we.”
But solitude isn’t loneliness. It’s a reunion.
A reconnection with the version of you who’s been quietly waiting for your own attention.

Start small:
📖 Read that book just for you
🌿 Take a walk without your phone
🕯️ Light a candle at dinner—not for ambiance, but to honor yourself …
…or you can be bold and;
🧭 Go on a solo adventure!
This isn’t about being okay without someone.
It’s about standing in your wholeness—without needing anyone to complete you.
