Ante Natal classes - Thursdays 09h00 - 10h00

It was a quiet end to 2014 and a quiet start to 2015 on our page. I am 27 weeks pregnant with my second miracle and its good to be back after an up and down start. So glad you can join me in my last trimester. Our ante and post natal classes have continue to run and I look forward to training with many new fit moms in 2015.

There are so many reasons why its crucial for us to do postnatal exercise:

- Rehabilitation of pelvic floor, abdominal and spinal muscles
- It provides an avenue for the body to regain strength
- Retrains muscles to recover
- Provides an outlet and social activity for new mums
- Prepares the body for aerobic or more high impact exercise
- Helps with Re**us Diastasis (abdominal separation) recovery

Instead of my usual weekly goals post, this week I decided to share some of my weekly goals from when I was pregnant:

This is me at about 30 weeks preggies:

- cook dinner 3 x this week
- exercise: Tuesday (pilates), Wednesday (weights), Saturday (yoga)
- rewrite my birth plan
- take preggy vitamins 3x this week (I couldn't stomach the smell or after taste of these, no matter the brand. Needless to say I could not manage to take this every day and 3 times a week was an absolute push for me).
- take omega oils twice this week (multiply my experience with the prenatal vitamins by 1000. This was my absolute worst. I tried hiding it in smoothies, food - nothing worked. I could detect it from miles away.)

My goals were small but so big for me at the time. Setting weekly and daily goals kept me sane. It kept my mind off the pregnancy and prohibited me from just waking up to eat and go back to sleep (which is exactly what I would've done if left to my own devices). Ha!

I came across this picture that highlights just SOME of the reasons why it's so crucial to exercise whilst pregnant. I know first hand, it was the best gift I gave myself and my baby. Hard, hard work (and not something I often felt like doing) but so worth it!

- improve flexibility
- reduce aches and pains
- "creates space" for your baby as your pregnancy progresses
- strengthen the pelvic floor
- improve labour stamina
- enables a smoother and quicker recovery post partum
