EU BUSINESS CALLS FOR RECONSIDERATION OF TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS ON SOUTHERN AFRICA

Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Southern Africa (EUCCISA) calls for reconsideration of the placed on and its neighbouring countries following the identification of the variant of the COVID-19 virus.

The EU Chamber fully supports the ongoing contribution being made by the world-class scientific and medical community in to the fight against -19. Whilst the Chamber appreciates the decision on the travel ban was not taken lightly by EU and other global leaders, we would have called for a more measured approach.

Western Cape we have arrived - yesterday the South African-German Dual Vocational Training programme in Freight Forwarding and Logistics started in Cape Town. In an effort to bridge the gap between industry and education 19 excited learners have been placed in the programme to receive their German and South African qualifications in Freight Forwarding and Logistics in cooperation with our service provider Metro Minds (Pty) Ltd. Key is as always the practical exposure the learners will receive as it forms 70% of their programme.

A big thank you to HOPE Cape Town for hosting us on your new premises at the Bavaria House, thank you Roderick Thyssen from the Western Cape Government for your inspirational Welcome speech to the new learners as well as to the host companies for introducing your organisation. We wish the learners all the best for their journey ahead.
