Eastgate Palms Lodge was founded in 2010 but the history of this building stretches over a century into the past. First built as a wedding gift from the first settler on the Bezuidenhout Valley to his daughter in the 1880s. The influence of this area are clearly for the wood finishing, high ceilings and ornate stain glass windows. The building then because a pillar of hope and strength for the community as a hospital during the British Resurgence in the 1910s. It continued, after the war, to be a source of hope for the people in the area as a convent and a place of peace and prayer. Eastgate Palms Lodge is proud to have such legacy and hopes to be a place of peace and content not just for our guest but for our community around us.
Eastgate Palms Lodge boosts a large interior yet welcoming reminiscent of its historic heritage yet cozy with hints of African Decor. There is ample parking space and lush gardens. We have 19 rooms, en-suite. Self catering facilities are available plus catered meals. The space in abundant with ceilings 3 meters high with gardens suitable for large events and small braise. Our dinning hall can host conferences or a simple party.
Any guest looking for entertainment will not need to travel far. Maboneng (an urban restaurant hub) and Eastgate Mall are within a 5km distance; Victoria Yards (specializes in art, artisan and eco-building), within a 1km walking distance.
