God is Love: Asking In Faith
Matthew 7:7
[7] Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
After the revelation on beatitude blessings (embodying meekness, mercy and gentleness - to inherit the kingdom and please the heart of God); the internal hypocricy of documented alms giving, prayers in streets and synagogues to draw attention, repetitive and lengthy chants of folly, killing in spirit through anger, fornicating in spirit through lustful thoughts, to love enemies and never seek vengeance, laying up treasures in heaven instead of earth, foresaking anxiety and worry for anything earthly, not judging others yet having sound judgement in all things - there proves a great need for salvation, guidance and consistent daily bread to overcome, even to be comfored to the perfected image of His Son. Christ first urges solitary prayer in the closet - where intimacy, vulnerability and understanding is kindled; now, to further deepen the eternal relationship with The Father, even so as to advance by His knowledge and increase in light - perpetually desiring, pursuing and persevering the heart towards His goodness, seeking to attain the true riches found in Christ. Asking always, such is the spirit of one in poverty: not from despair, fear or doubt (He who began a good work shall surely complete it) - rather allowing the heart to knock patiently and consistently; bringing growth and transformation for both the soul and Kingdom. The Father delights to answer those who search for Him sincerely, even confidently - thus increasing in faith. "Ask, seek, knock": we see a command to increase intensity (with trust and not aggression); communion is to be fervent and specific - rather not cold and careless.
Matthew 7:8
[8] for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
Christ reiterates The Fathers unchanging faithfulness: not a vague hope but a guaranteed principle - those who sincerely search for Him shall never be disappointed, rather amazed. "Every one": an open invitation - there is none too weak, sinful or unworthy in receiving grace; for these are whom He came to save. Again, prayer is not a formula - rather a thirsting desire from the heart. An eternal paradox: the greatest revelation, richest wealth, even highest discovery shall not be found in the gifts from God, rather from the very pursuing itself: greater faith, increased understanding and trusted submission - knowing the nature of God's heart, sovereignty and eternal goodness; the very workings of His ways, to know Him is greater than receiving any potential gain.
Hebrews 11:4-6
[4] By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. [5] By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. [6] But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
