At the Khula Natural Health Centre Eastern Cape , homeopathy bridges cultures, languages, and communities. This image captures a beautiful moment—a homeopathic doctor, two patients, and a translator working together to ensure that care and understanding flow freely. 💚

Language is more than words—it’s a connection to our roots, our stories, and our healing. On International Mother Language Day, we celebrate the diversity of languages that make healthcare more accessible, compassionate, and personal. 🗣️✨

No matter what language you speak, homeopathy listens. Because healing is universal—and it happens in every language. 🌿

“The main reason for the failure of modern medical science is that it is dealing with results and not causes. Disease will never be cured or eradicated by present materialistic methods, for the simple reason that disease in its origin is not material. What we know as disease is an ultimate result produced in the body, the end product of deep and long acting forces, and even if material treatment alone is apparently successful this is nothing more than a temporary relief unless the real cause has been removed.” Dr Edward Bach

"MediHerb was born out of my desire for efficacious herbal therapy.” – Professor Kerry Bone, Co-Founder of MediHerb

A herbal practitioner, scientist and academic, Kerry was inspired to create high quality herbal medicines, which would assist in improving patient outcomes.

With his background in chemistry, naturopathy and knowledge gained as a research scientist, Kerry developed the 1:2 Cold Percolation process, ensuring consistent high-quality extracts which retained the full spectrum of phytochemicals from herbal material. This laid the foundations of consistent efficacy in herbal medicine and paved the way for innovative testing methods and quality control.

Vaginal yeast infections resulting from Candida albicans pathogenic overgrowth can be difficult to treat, especially when recurrent. In this setting the infection triggers a nonprotective neutrophil infiltration, aggressive local inflammation and symptomatic disease. Despite its prevalence, little is known about the molecular mechanisms underpinning the immunopathology of this common fungal infection (Candida causes an estimated half-billion cases of vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC) every year). Scientists have recently found the molecular determinant of VVC immunopathology and a potentially straightforward way to prevent the disease.

In response to zinc limitation, C. albicans releases a trace mineral binding molecule called Pra1 (pH-regulated antigen). Experiments show that the gene PRA1 is up-regulated in response to local zinc limitation during vaginal yeast infection in mice. PRA1 expression was associated with vaginal tissue pathology and a local immune response, both of which were blocked in the models by PRA1 down-regulation or by topical zinc.

In a pilot study, a commercially available zinc gel (sold only as a vaginal moisturiser) alleviated symptoms and prevented reinfection in women with recurrent vaginal yeast infection. These findings suggest a potentially simple solution for the many women who suffer from recurrent vaginal candidiasis. Topical zinc may also play a role in treating and preventing other yeast infections.
