As a medical professional I have treated patients for wide ranging conditions including, problems related to jaw, neck, spine, hips, elbows, shoulders, knees and ankles. Your initial consult with me entails my finding out about your medical history and how it may be related to your current symptoms. I will assess you from a neurological, orthopaedic, muscular skeletal, biomechanical point, ergonomic and psychosocial perspective. Identifying the cause of your symptoms is the primary factor that enables me to treat you holistically and effectively. My various treatment modalities include: Ultra Sound (US), Interferential Current (IFC), Dry Needling and manual Trigger Point therapy, Mobilisation and/or manipulation of joints. KT taping, or Kinesio Taping is another form of treatment that I use when necessary, this is a new kind of tape that actually moves with the body, so once the tape is applied you wear it for days s it protects the muscle, joint, ligament or tendons. Once your initial symptoms have disappeared I recommend ´maintenance ´visits to me, think of me like a human mechanic just checking that your wheel alignment, chassis is kept in good working order. Some of my more famous patients include Olympic Gold Medallist Dame Kelly Homes. While training for the 2004 Athens Olympics, she regularly came to me for treatment to keep her ´on track. Comedian John Cleese also visits me for maintenance care when he is here in South Africa.
