.. I remember the day I dropped my car keys and the keyring broke I immediately thought I would go replace it and then heard later that same day , the tragic news that Shiri, Kfir and Ariel Bibas had been murdered . My broken keyring felt more symbolic like a broken shard , a painful reminder of the tragedy that started on Oct 7 2023 and has long lasting traumatic impact for so many in Israel and around the world.

Now that the last hostage is buried in Israel , our pins and ribbons may be out of sight but the reality is there is still much healing needed . For those who buried their loved ones May Hashem comfort the families, friends and community amongst the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.
For those stuggling with grief , trauma , physical and emotional injuries may you be blessed with refuah shleimah - Am Yisrael Chai

To all the human beings who are struggling at all ages with body image, worrying about daughters, sisters , body changes that come with peri-menopause/ menopause, the pressure and desire to be in a smaller body regardless of your starting point, to eat more perfectly /clean/ to go on keto/ fast, to exercise harder, who feel they have to do something drastic or else, who are struggling with health conditions without adequate support or resources, to the majority of people who feel they have to post anonymously on platforms when asking for advice or guidance out of genuine need, desperation, pressure or curiosity to use medications like Ozempic/ Monjouro - I see you!

I appreciate the beginning of the year is a common time for diet talk but with the presence of medications on the market means the pressure and diet noise seems more persistent and what makes it tough is that it is always wrapped up with a hint of weight stigma, diet culture, "' the best ever "" diet advice and shame all wrapped up making the space even harder to navigate. So this post isn't a solution but simply to say - I see you.

Last Thurs and Fri I stepped out of my private practice to join in another magnificent outreach organised by Marilyn Bassin. I love these opportunities to engage with parents and caregivers and provide basic nutrition education and practical affordable ideas that make a difference for a child living with cerebral palsy (CP) . I also get to spend time and learn from my friend and colleague Deborah Jacobson - Dietitian who is an experienced paediatric dietitian with a wealth of knowledge about CP

Every so often I get to step out of my routine private practice and participate in a magnificent well organized outreach. My friend and colleague Deborah Jacobson - Dietitian joins me and we spend the time assessing the children and chatting to their wonderful parents or caregivers about all things nutrition. We also get to meet community and district dietitians, this time round we worked with a dynamic district dietitian in Vryberg, Glenda, who helped us assess kids.

I have benefited from going to hydrotherapy. This amazing facility is accessible and run by an experienced physiotherapist Stacey Aires Aquatic exercise and therapy. This facility is In Glenhazel which is near to Linksfield, Greenstone, Lyndhurst , Bramley and Edenvale . For those curious who live a bit further, I honestly feel it’s worth the commute
