In her latest editorial for the SAJP (Volume 55, Issue 3: September 2025), Prof. Sumaya Laher challenges us to reimagine psychology careers in South Africa. Psychology graduates are more than future therapists: they are researchers, innovators, leaders, and changemakers in health, business, technology, education, policy, and beyond. The take-home message? Scope of practice is not destiny. Psychology is a launchpad into avenues for social impact and transformation, where psychology graduates can make a meaning contribution to society.
