The Sanctuary Soul Care Centre

Sanctuary "a place set apart, sacred, a place of refuge, rest and healing." Our goal is to "equip the compassionate and set the captives free".

We are interdenominational and run by a board of trustees from different churches. We are registered as a non-profit organisation with the department of social development. We offer affordable biblical based counselling, training, prayer ministry and retreats to all those whether believers or not.

As the year draws to a close, November invites us to slow down... to pause, breathe, and take stock of how far we’ve come.

It’s a time to reflect on the challenges we’ve faced, the growth we’ve experienced, and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. It’s also a reminder to restore what feels weary, and renew our focus on what truly matters, caring for ourselves and others as we head into the holiday season.

Let’s take this month to reflect with kindness, restore with intention, and renew with hope.

Have you or someone you love been battling illness or cancer? We’ve seen people healed through the power of prayer.

Gain insight from those in the medical field, and grow in your ability to pray for the sick (combining practical knowledge with faith grounded in God’s Word).

Led by Linda Headley-Fesel, who is currently involved in medical research after an experience with cancer herself. God healed her and now she walks in a calling to help others find hope and restoration.

Join us on the first Saturday of every month at 9am at Sanctuary Soul Care Centre.

We’ve seen God move. Come believe with us — for yourself, or for someone you love.

Trust is fragile, especially after it’s been broken, and letting others in can feel risky, however, Community is a powerful tool for change. A place where shared strength, encouragement, and understanding breathe life into weary hearts.

Building trust doesn’t happen overnight, it begins with small, intentional steps. When we connect with others, we find support in our struggles, celebrate victories together, and discover that our burdens are lighter when carried in love.

Healing rarely happens in isolation. We were never meant to walk life’s journey alone.

Surround yourself with people who uplift you, challenge you, and walk alongside you, because transformation happens best in connection.

We’re so excited to welcome DJ to The Sanctuary team! His heart for people and passion for walking with others toward healing is such a gift to our community.

DJ will be offering online counselling for those who can’t make it to our offices, and will also help facilitate our online Basic Counselling Courses and workshops, making it easier for anyone, near or far, to find hope, support and training.

We can’t wait to see the impact his heart and skills will bring!

God plants purpose in the heart of every person — a quiet calling, a longing for something more.

One great tool for change is learning how to stay motivated through purpose. When you know why you’re doing something it gives strength to your steps, even in slow seasons. Without vision, we can lose sight of where we’re going.

So, when you’re struggling with motivation, return to your “why.” Remember purpose gives birth to passion, and passion fuels perseverance.

Today is World Su***de Prevention Day. A day to pause, raise awareness, and remind each other that every life has value and every story matters.

Here are some signs that someone may be struggling:
- Talking about wanting to die or feeling hopeless
- Withdrawing from friends or activities
- Giving away possessions or saying goodbye
- Sudden calmness after distress

Talking about it openly can break the stigma and save lives.

Our Story

The Sanctuary Christian Counselling Centre known as “The Sanctuary” was birthed out of a vision laid upon Olga Fredericks heart.

The prophecy given to Olga in 2009 was just one of the many confirmations along the way that was given to her. “God is calling you to establish something in a country that is not your own. It is a small seed. It may be something small but it is some big thing that is latent and dormant. It is a vision waiting to be birthed.”

We are part of Global Mandate Wholistic Care Centres (see www.globalcarecentres.co.za). We are also affiliated to the Harare Christian Counselling Centre in Zimbabwe (www.christiancounsellingcentre.net)
