Not every frame is designed to blend in.

Theo eyewear is celebrated for its bold colours, architectural lines, and intelligent design - playful without being overwhelming and structured without rigidity.

For those who value individuality over mass production, this new collection presents something distinctive and thoughtfully crafted.

If you view eyewear as a design element rather than merely a tool, this is a must-see in person.

We celebrate your hard work - the long hours, the focus, the ambition.

Yet, few consider what enables all of it: Your vision.

From bustling boardrooms in Rosebank to late-night emails at home, your eyes are constantly adjusting and compensating. Eye strain is often subtle, manifesting as fatigue, slight blurriness, or a tension headache that you push through.

May is Healthy Vision Month, not merely a warning, but a reminder. Caring for your eyes is essential for showing up at your best.

Be honest: when did you last have your eyes tested?

Your lenses do more than just correct your vision. The tint you choose actively shapes how you experience light, contrast, and clarity depending on where you are and what you are doing.

Grey for your everyday commute. Amber for depth on a bright Joburg Saturday. Yellow when the fog rolls in. Rose for the cyclist who needs every edge. Each colour has a purpose, and the right one makes a real difference to how comfortable and clear your vision feels throughout your day.

Swipe through our guide and find the tint that works hardest for your lifestyle. Then come in and we will help you make it yours.

Freedom looks different on everyone. What does yours look like?

Today we celebrate Freedom Day, a day that reminds all of us of the power of choice, of voice, and of showing up in the world exactly as we are.

At Erin's, we believe that extends to how you see and how you choose to be seen. The frame you select is not a minor decision. It is one of the few things you wear every single day, present in every meeting, every conversation, and every photograph. It says something about how you carry yourself, what you value, and the version of yourself you choose to present to the world. That is not a small thing.

Today we honour the freedom to see clearly and to express boldly.

What does freedom look like for you today? Share below.

Are you ready for the evolution of eyewear?

2026 presents two distinct directions in frame design that are worth understanding before your next fitting.

The first is the architectural sculptural frame. Think thick acetate and strong silhouettes that function as a design statement. These frames provide structure and an instant polish to your overall look.

The second is the geometric cat-eye. This year, the look is sharp and intentional with elevated angles that highlight the cheekbones. It is a modern update that brings a refined brightness to the eye area.

Let us help you find the shape that fits your vision.

Your eyes know more than you think. Here are 5 health conditions a routine eye exam can detect before you even feel them.

Diabetes. The tiny blood vessels in your retina can leak or swell, revealing early diabetic retinopathy before a formal diagnosis is made anywhere else in your body.

High Blood Pressure. Hypertension causes visible changes to the blood vessels in your retina. Your optometrist can spot these signs even before a clinic reading raises the alarm.

High Cholesterol. A whitish-grey arc around the edge of the cornea, known as arcus senilis, can indicate elevated cholesterol levels, particularly in people under 45.

Brain Tumours and Neurological Conditions. Swelling of the optic nerve can signal raised intracranial pressure or serious neurological conditions, often before headache symptoms appear.

Multiple Sclerosis. Optic neuritis and thinning of the retinal nerve fibre layer are confirmed biomarkers for MS, detectable through a thorough eye examination.

Many serious conditions are completely silent. Your eyes can be the early warning system your body did not know it had.

Book your comprehensive eye exam at Erin's today.

That squinting habit you think is harmless? Your eyes are actually trying to tell you something.

Here is what is actually happening across the 5 stages.

Stage 1: Occasional squinting when things are slightly blurry. This is usually the first sign of an uncorrected refractive error, meaning your prescription either needs updating or you need one for the first time.

Stage 2: Squinting becomes more frequent, especially at screens, road signs, or across a room. Your eyes are now working overtime to compensate for what your vision is not delivering naturally.

Stage 3: The furrowed brow becomes a permanent fixture. This is muscle strain from sustained effort. Headaches around the forehead and temples usually follow.

Stage 4: You start tilting your head or closing one eye to see more clearly. At this point your brain is trying to suppress the weaker eye. This needs to be assessed.

Stage 5: Squinting no longer helps and you are avoiding certain tasks altogether. This is your visual system waving a white flag.

Clarity should not require this much effort. Book a comprehensive eye exam at Erin's and let us sort it out properly.

Perspective is shaped by the environment we inhabit.

In the heart of Rosebank, the architecture serves as a persistent reminder of what structural precision and modern ambition look like when they are done well. It is a neighbourhood that reflects the Johannesburg soul: vibrant, intentional, and anchored by a timeless sense of sophistication.

At Erin's, we are inspired by that same clarity. We curate our eyewear collections for people who navigate this city with a vision as sharp as the landscape around them.

There is a particular kind of afternoon that only Rosebank does properly.

Somewhere in the middle of it, you will find a man at a cafe, coffee in hand, Tom Ford frames resting between his fingers before they go back on his face.

That is not an accident. That is intention.

Joburg autumn/winter brings two quiet changes your eyes feel before you notice them. Drier Highveld air and longer hours on screens.

That combination can disrupt your tear film, which is what keeps the surface of your eye comfortable and clear. When it becomes unstable, symptoms like dryness, irritation, fluctuating vision, and that tired feeling start to show up.

A few simple adjustments can make a real difference:

Blink fully and more often when working on screens. Most people only half-blink, which leaves the eye exposed.

Follow the 20-20-20 rule. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds to reduce strain.

Position your screen slightly below eye level. This reduces how wide your eyes stay open and slows tear evaporation.

Stay mindful of airflow. Aircon and heaters accelerate dryness, especially in already dry air.

Hydration matters. Your tear film depends on it more than you think.

If your eyes have been feeling off lately, it is not random. It is seasonal, and it is manageable with the right habits.

Sophisticated clarity for the soul of every look.

The right frame does not shout. It confirms. It is the quiet detail that pulls the whole look together, the thing people notice without quite knowing why you look so put together.

At Erin's, we carry frames across shapes, materials, and silhouettes because no two people carry themselves the same way. Whether you lean towards a bold acetate that commands a room, a refined titanium that lets your work do the talking, or a warm tortoiseshell that moves comfortably between a boardroom and a weekend in Rosebank, there is a frame here that was made for how you move through the world.

Style is personal. Our job is simply to help you find yours.
