How important is water to your body?
1. Water protects your tissues, spinal cord and joints by keeping them lubricated and cushioned.
2. Water helps your body remove waste through perspiration, urination and defecation.
3. Water aids in Digestion, it helps break down food and drink, allowing nutrients to be absorbed by the body.
4. Water prevents you from becoming dehydrated.
5. Water helps your brain function optimally as dehydration causes memory, attention and energy problems because 75% of the brain is made up of water.
6. Water keeps your cardiovascular system healthy as water makes up 90% of your blood and keeps your electrolytes and minerals balanced.
7. Water can help you eat healthier as you will feel fuller and therefore eat fewer calories.
How much water do you need?
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommends that men consume 3.7 liters (15.5 cups) and women get 2.7 liters (11.5 cups) of fluids per day, which can come from water, beverages in general, and food (such as fruits and vegetables). You can also try the Urine Colour Test to evaluate how you’re doing on drinking up. After going to the bathroom, look at the colour of your urine. If it is very pale yellow to light yellow, you’re well hydrated. Darker yellow is a sign of.

*7 symptoms that you may have an acidic system:*

1. Frequent Heartburn
If you experience heartburn more than 2 times a week on a regular basis.
2. Morning Nausea
In GERD, stomach acid goes back to the mouth and oesophagus, leading to nausea and a bad, sour taste in the mouth. This commonly happens in the morning, because there's a long gap between dinner and breakfast the next morning.
3. Chronic Dry Cough
Unexplained coughing that gets aggravated at night is one of the primary symptoms of this disease.
4. Hoarseness
Acid reflux making its way to the voice box can lead to hoarseness and sore throat for no apparent reason.
5. Chest Pain
Pain that starts high in the abdomen is one of the most common symptoms of acid reflux.
6. Regurgitation
Partially digested food coming back to the throat, signifies indigestion, something that is not meant to be taken lightly.
7. Bad Breath
In spite of brushing twice a day and flossing regularly, if you constantly use mints and chewing gums to mask your bad breath, it may very well be a case of GERD as acid reflux causes stinky breath.
