ReStorying Wholeness

ReStorying Wholeness Stories are powerful maps that guide us, connect us with others, and that shape meaning in our lives.

Restorying Wholeness© uses the healing aspects of stories and creative expression to strengthen and resource individuals and groups. Restorying Wholeness© is a group process through which we access the medicine of myth, fairytales and creative expression to deepen meaning and resourcefulness. Rooted in restoring our connection with Self and our environment, we draw on our innate wisdom, strengthen our relationship with Life's wisdom and come into our own belonging and creativity. In addition to story, we might engage with art, embodiment, psychodrama and other expressive arts forms.

I have encountered so many people this week feeling the impact of what is happening in our world, so I have decided to offer some balm.
Myth as medicine at a time when we need to access new ways of being for ourselves and our communities, including organisational. If you're in Johannesburg and available on Saturday morning, I hope you will join me.

Autumn Harvest: A Biodanza experience.
Seeds are planted in the Spring and they grow in the Summer. Autumn is the season for harvesting what we've planted, and for transitioning into the renewal that Winter brings.
Join me on
Saturday, 01st March
10:15am to 12pm
to celebrate the glimmers of orange, yellow, red, and purple as we welcome Autumn and dance with its invitations of abundance and gratitude.

Thrilled to share that after a 2 year journey studying NDP Neuro-Dramatic-Play with developer Prof Sue Jennings, a global expert in play therapy, I have achieved a distinction in the advanced diploma and been granted my trainers certificate!
I've been teaching NDP to Drama Therapy Master's students at Wits for the last year and can now share the skills and knowledge even more widely. It's such a meaningful body of work with the potential to bring restorative healing to children and adults. I will be facilitating a session for therapists and teachers soon.

"Neuro-Dramatic Play (NDP) is a creative therapeutic approach developed by Dr Sue Jennings, using play and drama to support emotional healing and resilience.
Key Points:
🧸 Attachment-Based: Focuses on emotional bonds.
🎨 Creative Expression: Encourages safe emotional expression.
🌱 Trauma-Informed: Supports recovery from trauma.
👶 For All Ages: Works with children, adults and families.

Myth and story are rooted in our human psyche and our instinctual bodies. I created Somatic Story® as an immersive process in which images, metaphors, archetypes and symbols from stories can be dropped into our individual and collective bodies as a pathway to deeper insight and meaning, and expanded possibilities.

In our next process, we will invite the archetype of the outcast, the Ugly Duckling. The outcast carries powerful capacities for healing both self and the family system. The journey, however, as anyone who has lived the experience will know, is a deeply painful one. And yet, if we are able to navigate this journey, the transformation is also softly wondrous.

I am so excited to share this experience on the 4th May in Johannesburg.

There are 3 spaces left.

Vasintha Pather

Drama Therapist, Leadership Coach, Family & Organisational Constellations Facilitator

Specialising in working with clients to renegotiate individual and collective trauma symptoms, including developmental trauma. I work with adults, teenagers and children aged 7+. I provide group and individual psychotherapy that promotes health, self-expression and resourcefulness . My work is informed by Jungian and Gestalt thinking, and creative, embodied approaches. These offer opportunities for change and healing, through playing with different ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

My skills and experience include family and organisational constellations, sand play, somatic experiencing® and psycho-neuro-immunology; which I draw on in the therapeutic encounter. I have a deep appreciation for using teaching stories and myth in therapy,

Having worked in organisational and leadership development for over 20 years, I am passionate about working with leaders and other organisational participants, to sustain healthy functioning whilst navigating personal growth and often challenging organisational dynamics. I do this in my capacity as a therapist, or as a leadership coach, depending on my clients’ requirements.
