🌍💚 Today is World Lymphoma Awareness Day – a day to stand together in raising awareness and support for those affected by lymphoma.

As biokineticists, we know that exercise oncology plays a vital role in improving quality of life for patients with lymphoma. Regular, supervised exercise can:
✨ Reduce fatigue
✨ Improve strength and fitness
✨ Support immune health
✨ Enhance emotional well-being

Every step, stretch, and movement matters – not only during treatment but also in recovery and survivorship. Exercise isn’t just about physical health; it’s about hope, resilience, and empowerment.

Let’s keep moving forward, together. 💪💚

🌸 September is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month 🌸
Today, 10 September, we also recognize International Gynecological Health Day—a vital reminder of the importance of prevention, early detection, and holistic care in women’s health.

Exercise plays a powerful role in cancer care, including for women living with or beyond cervical cancer. Research shows that tailored exercise can:
✨ Reduce fatigue
✨ Improve physical function and mobility
✨ Support emotional well-being
✨ Strengthen immune and cardiovascular health

🔑 Exercise prescription hints for cervical cancer patients:

Aerobic activity: Moderate walking or cycling, 3–5 times per week

Strength training: 2–3 times per week with progressive resistance

Flexibility & pelvic health exercises: Gentle stretching and pelvic floor work

Individualized approach: Intensity and progression should be carefully tailored to treatment phase, energy levels, and overall health

Exercise oncology is not a “one-size-fits-all”—it’s about restoring quality of life, empowering recovery, and supporting women on their journey. 💪💜

💛🚴‍♀️ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, and we were proud to stand in support at this weekend’s Cyclethon Fundraiser!

While I was there cheering on the cyclists, Annie Vincent represented our practice on the bike – pedaling with purpose to raise awareness and funds for children fighting cancer. 🌟

As biokineticists, we know the powerful role exercise oncology plays in improving quality of life for children with cancer. From supporting strength, mobility, and resilience during treatment to aiding recovery afterwards, movement truly matters.

Every pedal stroke and every cheer was a reminder that together, we can make a difference. 💛

Thanks to our Basa Gauteng for supporting this cause and promoting the profession.

✨ September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month ✨

Every child deserves the chance to play, move, and thrive — even in the face of cancer. 💛

Exercise oncology plays a vital role in supporting children during and after treatment. Gentle, individualized movement can help improve strength, reduce fatigue, support mental health, and enhance overall quality of life.

As biokineticists, we stand alongside children and families in this journey, bringing hope and healing through safe, evidence-based exercise interventions.

Let’s continue to raise awareness, advocate for better survivorship care, and shine a light on the importance of movement in the fight against childhood cancer. 🌟

🎗️ Gold is the colour of childhood cancer awareness — let’s wear it proudly this month!

Well this was a fun exercise 🤣
Thought I would take up a Challenge made by Anne Gray about creating my very own Action figure!
Could this be the face/figure of a new AI Biokineticist??? 🤔

I still think this toy/AI person won't quite have my drive for people and empathy, and will certainly not have any of my "quirks" (shame), but the reality is that AI is becoming part of Healthcare more and more.

AI in Healthcare: The Future is Now
Artificial Intelligence is no longer just a concept—it's becoming deeply entwined with healthcare, transforming the way we diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate.

From predictive analytics in chronic disease management to AI-driven exercise prescription in rehab settings, the integration of technology is reshaping how we care for patients.

The trend? Smarter medicine.
The goal? Better outcomes, personalized care, and empowered professionals.

We're stepping into a new era—where innovation meets impact.
